A sweet top with a dark patchouli heart..
Patchouli Noir opens with strong notes of cherry and saffron and just a hint of orange, sweet but not cloying, before going into a darker heart of patchouli, earthy truffle, and Bulgarian rose with just a touch of magnolia. The coconut smooths the fragrance, giving it warmth and balance. It’s a rich, elegant fragrance that’s equal parts sweet, earthy, and mysterious. A very non-linear fragrance that’s blended to perfection. Last time I wore it I could smell it on my skin for 16 hours. Huge sillage too. One of my favourite fragrances at the moment.

A social experiment..
Decided to blind buy this fragrance not believing any of the reviews.. man was I wrong.. I have to keep it in 3 plastic bags so my entire house doesn’t smell like it, this is pure sorcery. Scent is good, heavy on the coffee and chocolate in the opening but in the drydown it’s all about the syrup.. Though I do pick up a slight weird celery/fenugreek smell in the dry down (5-6 hours after application) which I oddly like. I have never gotten so many reactions from a fragrance, both good and bad, 1 spray = 1 wearing. An 100ml bottle will last you a lifetime. Projects to the heavens, my ancestors from 300 years ago can smell this when I wear it. Absolutely love it! But it’s a social experiment to see how far people are willing to go performance wise.

An absolute masterpiece..
An absolute masterpiece from Amouage!! In the opening you get freshly picked mint, not a sweet toothpaste type mint, real mint picked fresh from the plant. As it starts to dry down you get a waft of mastic gum mixed with some green notes and some mint in the background. A modern take on a classic fougère. Signature scent worthy, this is slowly becoming one of my favourite fragrances of all time. Amazing performance as well, can be worn all year round. 10/10 !! Shame this is becoming hard to find now, I managed to pick up a bottle for €170 ;)

Stomach turning, synthetic mess.
Smells like rotten strawberries that have been sitting out in the sun.. horrific, headache inducing, stomach turning and an insult to perfumery. 50ml for €195 is criminal… I’m not sure who would buy or wear such a thing. Has this weird medicinal smell in the dry down and makes my stomach turn.. smells like an air freshener in a cheap hotel.

Did you cover yourself in baby powder????
A very overrated and mediocre fragrance, popular just because it was discontinued imo. Opens up with a blast of bergamot + and an oddly sweet spearmint accord which to me both smell very out of place. Then dries down to the smell of baby powder with a hint of cherry, I got multiple comments saying I smell like I just covered myself in baby powder. Not good for the price. Good lasting power and projection though. Overall 5/10.
