Memory of My Youth
In my over 40 years in the perfume industry, I have, of course, seen many exciting fragrances come and go, and many more that I do not miss at all. Of course, No.5 has accompanied me throughout my entire professional life.
As soon as I could afford it as a young woman, I treated myself to it and felt for the first time like a "lady." Later, many other fragrances joined the mix, and at some point, I became tired of No.5; I found No.19 much more interesting. The topic was closed for me.
Then it became common to complement successful perfumes with "lighter" versions. I must be honest, I do not like these stripped-down Light products; they seem somewhat castrated to me. When Eau Premiere was announced, I was not particularly interested, almost disappointed that Chanel was jumping on this bandwagon as well. But I must admit, I was thoroughly mistaken.
I experience No.5 completely anew and yet feel transported back to my youth in the scent. Perhaps I like it precisely because the difference is not so enormous, but Eau Premiere is certainly not as aggressively soapy and aldehydic as No.5. The fragrance radiates, is transparent, and gives me the feeling as if one could breathe light.
Interestingly, many young women who would never wear No.5 because their grandmother already had it are buying Eau Premiere, as it still carries the image of the world's most famous perfume into the next generation.

Well, yes...
In our perfumery (not the turquoise one), there is a saying that unfortunately applies more and more often when a new fragrance has been delivered and each of us reaches for the tester:
Quite nice, but the world didn't need it, and where are we going to find another half meter of shelf space?
Or even worse: It could also say MEXX on it. I'm not sure if I would go that far. However, I fear it might be cannibalism against Allure Sport.
