I was looking for a light, feminine lavender scent - preferably niche - that wasn't boring. I love Mon Guerlain Intense - but it's too much for every day for me. Definitely. I honestly didn't think it would be that hard.
Long story short: I eventually found myself at the Chloé counter. I had little hope. Chloé is not really my brand, I gave Normade almost full to a friend a few weeks ago. And the first spray on paper of Lavanda? Quite creepy. Just pungent cleaner green and no lavender. I was persuaded to test the scent on my skin.
Lo and behold, the top note is still really NEON GREEN (grass and lemon for me) and I don't smell any flowers in there, unfortunately. Sorry! The pungent fades fortunately quickly. The scent still tends to be green for me, but softens up, the lavender shines through and there are some florals in there too. It has a bit of a flower meadow flair, I'd say.
The scent is no doubt quickly skinnier later in the dry-down, more floral and powdery - which I personally find very sexy.
Lavanda deserves a chance: please don't judge it directly at the counter and on paper. The discrepancy was very large in my case.

PS: 'sexy lavender' tips are still very much appreciated by me. ;)

Actually, it is a contradiction in terms: what, pray tell, is a 'quiet Oriental'? In this case a fragrance that doesn't deny its origin, spicy, a little bit of citrus, with a rose touch later (I get that too). It is warm and gets really soft after a while on the skin.
I think it's great, especially if it's one of those days when Shalimar doesn't work for me because it's 'too loud'.

If the fragrance were an outfit, it would be jeans, loafers, silk top and blazers in blue, white and black. That may not be exciting - but with just enough room for individuality through cut, texture and attitude. Oriental Lounge" is perfect for this: an ever-present on days when you don't really want to attract attention but want to stay true to yourself.

If you are looking for an exciting oriental, then, as the previous speakers have said, this is certainly not the one here..

It may be childish, but I just can't give up this scent yet, even though I really smell like leather seat for the first few minutes. I like leather on others - but on myself it is highly irritating. That is simply not me.

All advocates of the leather in this fragrance, please read away, sacrilege follows: I lay Bianchi's masterpiece. Because, fortunately, the beautiful base does prevail in the end. And it's really great. Skin-y, special and anything but arbitrary. My favourite layer candidate is "Beachwalk" by Replica Maison Margiela. It makes the leather on my skin softer and more cuddly, without disturbing this scent too much..

For me, one of the office fragrances ever. Strong, sophisticated, and a really beautiful jasmine green iris. For me personally the classic, unrivalled and with many memories: the 2007 version (I think it was).
