Another banger from the Au bros
A beautiful, smooth, fuzzy, animalic Chypre. I love this, this is a different take on a Chypre for the true connoisseurs of the genre. To me it’s a linear fragrance, there is some development but not much and that isn’t a bad thing. It’s base heavy and feels like all of the notes are blending into something that’s beastly and beautiful. It’s animalic, floral and woody, all at once. I definitely get the florals in the opening, they smell waxy and slightly spicy, then the animalics soon come into play, and they purr throughout the fragrances life, supporting the florals, and Chypre sensibilities. I detect a subtle urinous presence, it could be the animal notes mixed in with the oud that give this impression. The ylang ylang and tuberose are strong but not overpowering and are grounded by the sandalwood. A lovely fragrance, I’m very happy to have it in my collection. The peacock on the front of the bottle is fitting, this fragrance is exotic, wear it, puff your chest out and stand proud in your glory.

One of the greats
This is one of my favourite fragrances of all time. It’s such a beautiful, smooth, ambery, slightly sweet and animalic fragrance. Unlike any Chypre I have come across, this exemplifies a master perfumer at the peak of his powers. It’s mature yet deceptively youthful, reminiscent of the classic Chypre’s of old but modernised for today’s palettes, it treads the line of duality perfectly. It opens with an energetic blast of ambery, slightly green, citric notes, which are supported by a melange of gorgeous florals blended to perfection which give the fragrance an ethereal, pillowy quality, yet there is something domineering and vibrant that hums throughout. The base notes, support the fragrance perfectly, offering a mix of sweet, vanillic, leathery sexiness and a masterful touch of furry castoreum adds some heft to it. On me, it lasts all day and I ain’t mad at that, a true pleasure to wear.
