Here on Parfumo, I'm one of the quiet fragrance maniacs and I'm currently writing my second review. One thing was clear, at some point I had to dedicate a review to this fragrance, because it deserves nothing less!

When I wear Ambre Nuit, I know that this is exactly how I want to smell to other people. That is me. I am this fragrance. It's hard to describe what this fragrance does to me, but it leaves me feeling happy and content every time I sniff it. I feel like this scent can take the sniffer to the place they long to go the most. For many, I could imagine the scent taking them to the beach. Sea breeze, warm sand underfoot and the feeling of seemingly endless freedom and contentment. The scent often takes me there too, but sometimes it just takes me to summer (well, that depends on whether it's summer or not), while I'm cracking stupid jokes with friends and family at a barbecue where everyone just shakes their heads or at least says "Hah, that was something again" out of politeness. I open myself an ice-cold Coke (those who know the scent know what I'm talking about) and enjoy the last sunlight of the day, which shimmers golden on the glass that is now filled with Coke. I associate these moments with fragrances like Ambre Nuit.

Sometimes I wonder how a perfumer can create such compositions without bursting with pride (I don't know any perfumers personally, but I'm pretty sure that none of them have actually burst yet. Well, maybe we should hope so).

I think I've rambled on enough about what the perfume does to me, so I'll try to bring some structure to my bible-like explanations and puffy sketches of myself.

About the fragrance itself (12/10):
First of all: there is no better fragrance for me so far (at least not among the 3 quadrillion that I have already tested). At the beginning it smells like a fresh cola to me ;D (short Deja-Vú somehow, don't know why). "Theoretically" there is citric in the top note, which I personally can only really recognize as such at the very beginning with a strong focus on it. But I'm not a pro there either. This cola-like note is slightly reminiscent of Roja's Enigma. I guess this is mainly due to the eponymous ambergris accord, which is present across all notes and combines this resinous, syrupy sweetness with the freshness of the sea. After that, I can follow the scent's progression and notes more easily. From the heart note onwards, the fragrance becomes sweeter, creamier and even more irresistible. The DD is generally very sweet and spicy. Hard to describe, simply beautiful. Does beautiful pass as a fragrance description here? The longer you let the fragrance mature on your skin, the more it takes you to the places of longing described.

On the H/S (7.5/10):
I doubt you, Dior! You read it here in various reviews. H/S is often ok, but nothing more. And that's what makes me doubt that there is a perfect fragrance essence. The scent is so beautiful and as I mentioned above, it gets more and more beautiful with every minute it is on the skin. And that makes me wonder (*cough* Dior what's going on *cough*): "Why does it often have to be over so quickly?". By quickly, I usually mean 5-6 hours, sometimes 7, which is actually not quite enough for an office day. That's a real shame. In my opinion, the silage is unfortunately even worse than the durability and I just about give it an "OK". It seems to be quite good close to the skin (i.e. when hugging someone, for example), as I've often been praised for this. However, I don't walk around the office hugging everyone tightly so that they can smell my fragrance. Unfortunately, it's rather weak compared to the fragrance itself. What a shame!

Is anyone else reading this? I would have quit after the weird stuff in the second paragraph. For anyone still reading this: Thank you
