Black Opium for Advanced Users
Is Orchidée de Minuit a groundbreaking new fragrance? No.
Will it appeal to many? Unlikely.
For me, it is the bolder Black Opium, it dares more. The patchouli plays a dominant role here and gives it more grounding or depth. For me, it’s not musty; in combination with the clove and styrax, it evokes more of a licorice association, in the best sense.
Equally intense is the jasmine note, and it is not overshadowed; rather, it becomes “darker” through the rum and patchouli.
This makes it mystical, sexy, bold, and seductive for me. An absolute fragrance for nights and evenings when women are fully aware of their feminine allure and want to play with it (while Black Opium is “let’s see what happens,” Orchidée de Minuit is “it will happen, and I have chosen you to be a part of it”).
Over time, it becomes “quieter,” “closer to the body,” which for me completes the allure of the fragrance.
The vanilla is, of course, a key note from the very first second, but it does not overshadow everything in this perfume. It connects the individual parts into a velvety sound.
From the new blue line, my favorite. Longevity is above average for me.

Leather, no way…
… I always thought. Not my fragrance category.
And then I test Black Saffron and I am on fire for this scent from head to heart to base note.
I find it incredibly good, flowing, all the aromas weave together into a fragrant painting.
Juniper, leather, rose, and then vetiver, in combination I usually shake my head and say: No, No, No. Here I say: Brilliant connection.
The only downside for me is the longevity, I have that issue with all Byredo scents.

A Night Star
Scents structure our memories, we know how it smells at Christmas, how the air smells after the rain, …
I wear Étoile d'une Nuit at night. For me, it is a private scent, the label lipstick scent does not capture it sufficiently for me.
It is a scent I have chosen so that my little daughter remembers it as the last scent of the day, when her mother reads to her, strokes her, and holds her.
This scent is motherly in the best sense. It is confident, well-groomed, calming, embracing.
I hope that my daughter feels secure when she smells this scent.
I have placed a bottle in her memory box.

It is love.
There are many special perfumes and there are masterpieces that I appreciate. However, there are only a few that I would never part with and that connect with me immediately.
Comète is one of those works. It is delicate and intense, simple and complex, embracing and liberating, it touches me.
