that girl
orphéon is a night out at a sexy bar- black leather booths, dim lighting, walnut antique vanity tables in the restrooms, $25 gin cocktails. she's powdery and sophisticated, elegant and woody, an effervescent scent bubble that makes people sniff the air around you dramatically. every once in a while there is a fragrance that completely deserves the hype and notoriety it gets, and orphéon is one of them. despite having hundreds of fragrances that I rotate through every day, I've been through five bottles of her which should speak for itself!

iridescent soap bubbles
I smelled this for the first time in stéle last week and immediately knew I had found my perfect clean laundry and aldehyde scent. this one is everything I have ever hoped for- soapy without being sharp, musky without being untraceable. the florals and woods are background noise, but in the most beautiful way. there is a fuzziness to it that is almost reminiscent of warm bulb, but I would argue that this is cooler toned and that texture goes away pretty quickly. I'm surprised this doesn't have lily of the valley listed as a note, because it ends up being a very creamy, diaphanous clean freshie that I adore

intimacy bottled
les cahiers secrets is a fun one because it tells a story of intimacy and eroticism through its weartime. the opening is a fresh, beautiful lily, sparkling woman just out of the shower, beginning her day knowing that it will end in pleasure. as it dries, it becomes more and more animalic and- as stated by others- fleshy. it remains powdery from start to finish, but that powderiness goes from something clean and timeless to something very sweaty, raw, and human as the cumin comes through. eventually, it settles into what I can only describe as the musk of a woman at the end of a long day.

I wore this one to a late night showing of teenage sex and death at camp miasma and I feel like it was the perfect choice (should've layered it with a blood frag, though- my fault)

it's my party and i'll cry if I want to
I recently had the saddest birthday I can remember- despite being surrounded by friends and family who love me dearly, there were tears of despair on my special day. of course, this is the fragrance I wore.

annabel's birthday cake is a beautiful, melancholic birthday party. the cake is lemony and bright, hoping to cheer you up, and you're wearing a special crown made of gossamer tuberoses that makes you feel beautiful. but the candles are dripping wax faster than you can blow them out, your latex balloons are wilting in the corners of the room, and you cannot help but feel that you are running out of time.

powdery, nostalgic, and very fitting for a sad birthday girl

unit-01
to me, this is what an evangelion would smell like. expensive and sturdy leather, smooth steel not exactly of this current reality, sake off the breath of a depressed fourteen year old boy tasked with saving humanity. that's not to say this feels juvenile; on the contrary, it reads as a very mature, almost-but-not-quite brawny masculine fragrance. it makes me a little sad when I smell it for too long, despite not having any traditionally melancholy notes.

tldr: tokyo-3 is under attack, the smoke from the destroyed glass and steel buildings is seeping into the suit, and humanity has one hope
