black pepper, rice steam, paper texture
I know people describe this as a skin scent but it smells like more than that to me. It's definitely a perfume that's going to sit comfortably on your skin, but it's very complex. To my nose, it has a peppery and floral top note, then transforms into a very warm, comforting musk much like the steam that comes from freshly cooked rice (as the notes suggest). The rice steam can be interpreted as a paper note as well, like having dinner while writing something on the side. I guess it could be classified as a gourmand, especially since the rice element is pretty strong to me (although there's no hint of sweetness). I haven't smelled anything like this yet, I don't think I can easily find another musk fragrance that's as warm and as interesting.

sunny morning, funeral bouquets
My first impression of this perfume in stores is that it smelled like dead autumn leaves left rotting on wet ground. I get the jasmine and lily now, a powdery, overbearing yet tranquil scent, much like grief and funerals---ideas that are often associated with the colour black, but in truth can be overwhelmingly bright. The provocative name first creates an idea, then the pleasant scent follows. As pleasant as visiting an old cemetery in the morning, plants still dewy, the sun shining softly, the breeze carrying the smell of grass and stone and funeral bouquets.

acacia from my childhood
It's a simple product and a simple scent: sweet, fresh floral. It's like the acacia flowers that I'd smell growing up. I just used up the body yogurt in the same scent, and I like to spray the body spray after showering because I'm starting to associate the scent with the moisturizer. I wish they still made the perfume in this scent.

shadow casted from tree bark, breeze
Opens with a sharpness and dries down to an incredibly resinous scent. I love resin and woods, I just don't know where the sharpness comes from. It's the kind that gives me a migraine, which is a shame because I really do love the smell. The scent is very strong for a solid perfume, and when you've been wearing it for the whole day, you get more and more of the "milky" and creamy quality from the frankincense. Maybe I'll have to try the liquid version some time.

black tea, florest floor, after the rain
The strongest scent I get from this is the tea, an extremely aromatic and bitter tea. The kind of tea that I had drank in the mountains of China. Other than that, it's wet and woody, like a forest floor after rain. As a person with scent sensitivities, I don't get the sharp feeling in my head from this scent unlike with some other scents.
