the memberberries
This evokes something, some deep rooted memory from my childhood. I can't quite place my finger on it, but it's near Christmas time. Perhaps pulling the ornaments out of storage, and smelling old candles that had been lit from years previous. Those candles only lit for an hour or less during Christmas dinner with the family, Then stored away again for the next year. They smell of dust and the color red. My mom's had a few too many, the music keeps getting louder, and I'm in the corner trying to shake the presents to see if I can guess what's inside the box. This gives me the memberberries like something CRAZY. I love this scent.
Dancing with Strangers
this is waxy, and not necessarily lipstick waxy, but almost like globs of candle wax. It's lovely. It's like a less-sweet version of Lipstick On. Violets, crushed, on the bottom of a high heel. It smells like panty-hose, that have been worn all day, with skin and a bit of musk lingering on them. The florals are tired, and cranky, not lively and youthful. This is a hard working woman's perfume.
The mystical aquatic/vanilla/green/ozonic dream fragrance.
This fragrance has become my obsession. I have to forcefully make myself wear something else, because this has dug it's claws into me. It feels like a drop of water when I'm parched. It's like a shred of light during a storm. It is the feeling of a loved one next to you when you wake from a dream.
It's dewy and damp, airy and ethereal, grounded and simple, and yet there's still a bit of spice and warmth. It's all the elements put together to make the perfect fragrance. The bit of ozonic feeling helps this dance on the skin, never heavy. It's hard for bystanders to just ignore it's amazing scent, I always have people say I smell wonderful when wearing this.
The semi-aquatic, fairy green, sliver of sweetness, and cloud-like airiness I never knew I needed in a perfume.
