Poor performance

So, I’ve tried four perfumes from this brand so far, and I’ve returned them all. The scents themselves aren’t bad or overly strange, but they’re not particularly innovative either.

What bothers me the most is the extremely weak performance. The fragrance fades so quickly, it feels more like a watered-down eau de toilette than anything substantial. And that really shouldn’t be the case — just a bit more perfume oil would make a big difference.

At this price point, you should be able to expect a fragrance that actually lasts. So in short: the scents are okay, but the quality is disappointing.

Crisp Early Spring

Mint, lemon rind and violets. Exactly what I want to smell, and to smell like, when I step outside on a crisp early-spring day. Those chilly notes give way to candied violets in the heart after 15mins. After an hour or so, settles into a very green base of the violet leaf and rooted in vetiver. Overall journey is the early sunbeams of March on dry earth with early green shoots and sprouts.

The floral aspect is subtle, the choice of early season bloomers like violet and daffodil successfully evoke crisp, light scents of floral. Do not expect the rose and jasmine notes to be strongly featured, they seem to be used in dilute amounts to just give the suggestion of florals without the use of actual violet flowers (only violet leaf absolute).

My first Ffern fragrance, and I had high expectations for the roll out. Great unboxing experience with the artwork, diffusion stone, sample set and lovely gift of candied violets from Toulouse, France. Everything I was looking forward to and more! Arrived earlier than the spring equinox official release so I did not get to watch their short film with it. But I love a fragrance that gives a full sensory and storytelling experience.

On clothes, paper sample strip or diffusion stone it fits the above description. Unfortunately when I was ready to spritz it on skin, it did not agree with my skin chemistry at all. On me and my sister we were overwhelmed by burnt tire or plastic. Ultimately, had to return it for that reason but spraying the sample on my clothes makes me regret returning it now, as it does not have that experience on clothes. I would happily smell like this throughout the early spring season. Will scrupulously use every last drop of the sample spray on my diffuser stone at my bedside especially with a window cracked open to greet the new season. Spring wind goes so well with this fresh, green scent.
