Fresh, only slightly sweet strawberry with green leaves behind a milk glass pane - or photoshopped from a trendy advertisement? Then white musk, clean molecules, a hint of cedar. Somewhere between brand-name laundry detergent on still warm, slightly damp fresh laundry and body lotion. Sunshine, white spring flower (jasmine?). Innocent, but not childish.

Somewhere it is artificial, but beautiful - not cheap or generic. It feels clean-skinny, but with projection. It has something.

I have the lovely small oil rollerball for a fresh touch on the go. The scent is said to be similar to Glossier You, which I can imagine, but unfortunately I do not know it.

Rose roses, minimal lipstick hint, light gray musk, even more flowers, musk, musk, musk. Not clean, not airy-powdery, but dense, with a slightly sexy undertone. Very perfumey, almost artificial.

My boyfriend comes home and asks what smells so good. The sillage seems to be good.

Unfortunately, it reminds me too much of the 80s.

Late summer, citrus wedge, for a brief moment like an herbal aftershave.

Then Senanque, lavender fields glowing in the afternoon sun, tranquility, dust in the air. Light, airy vanilla powder, green speckles, a hint of spice. Small white clouds in a blue sky.

In the base, a lot of tonka, cotton candy with a touch of crème brûlée, Play-Doh, and fog machine. (Everything here is beautifully natural, plastic, soft, silky-woven into a transparent veil of fragrance.)

The man with Caron's “Pour un Homme” just quickly walks by, glancing at me. My sweet, powdered skin remains, clean and unkissed. (In the end, unfortunately very close to the skin.) Close to perfect, if only he would stay a little longer.

P.S.: I perceive it as rather feminine, think it is unisex, like all fragrances from this brand. The name seems to have misled here.

The sun is shining through the window, it’s the weekend and the air is warm. Everyone is here. There’s homemade Frankfurter Kranz, with buttercream, hazelnut brittle, and candied cherries. Maybe we’ll even sprinkle some colorful sprinkles on top, what do you think? Alongside, water with a splash of lemon. Yes, Dad still drinks his coffee with sugar. The flowers in the vase look beautiful, but unfortunately, they hardly smell.

Is Mom’s favorite scent still “Le Bain”? It smells so embracing, oily, and dense. It also only becomes really nice after a while, then it’s sugary, skin-like, airy. In this phase of the vanilla base, you love to hug your mother.

What, you don’t want a second piece? Don’t you like the cake?

Do Son belongs to the group of “Clean and Well-Groomed” floral fragrances for me, which evoke images of upscale hotels, florists, hair salons, spas, and freshly washed white terry towels. This also includes, for example, Nuit de Cellophane by Serge Lutens, Les Nuits d'Izu by Keiko Mecheri, Jasmin Rouge, and Eau de Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford.

At first, it reminds me of Aveda hairspray: moist, dark leaf green, tropical-floral, very natural and balanced sweet. Natural flowers, a transparent blend of tuberose, jasmine, and a hint of orange blossom follow. Compared to the perfume, it is less floral-waxy, lighter. The EdT and perfume share this mineral marine note that gives the flowers an edge and conveys a pulling feeling of longing/wanderlust. Then it settles a bit and becomes more powdery, spicier, and soapy. It remains skin-warm and only slightly sweet, lightly woody/smoky, but always very bright, airy, and sunny. It forms a perfect, skin-close mélange, a clean-soapy gauze, in which no single note stands out anymore. It also faintly reminds one of a vintage sunscreen. (The perfume version definitely lasts much longer, is denser, more plastic, but also much more classically floral.)

A modern classic and one of my favorites from the last few years!
