Your favourite church/incense fragrance.

Greetings everyone!
What is your favourite church or incense fragrance? Why do you like it? Why is it great?

For me, Rêve d'Ossian (2012) is the best and has been my signature scent. It has all the scents I remember from my childhood church.
The tragedy is that I found this perfume very early in my journey into fragrances, so it is very difficult to find anything that matches it for me, but the quest for church fragrances continues.
What about you?

It's hard to nail it down to one fragrance, but LAVS by Filippo Sorcinelli! It's very calming, a little cold but very sophisticated. It's such a meditative scent and it's been hard to find something that comes close to. I'm currently on the hunt for something a little bit warmer though.

If I could I would get my hands on all of the fragrances from Memento and Unum lines, he's such a talented person. I have a decant of Pont. Max. and it smells like a warm church, if that can help your hunt.

I've never heard of that one before! Unfortunately the retailers here in Australia carry very limited stock from Filippo Sorcinelli, I've only ever seen majority of the Unum line carried here.

Sorry for jumping on this thread pretty randomly and a couple months later:
First, as a newbie, have been facinated with incense and you are spot on, LAVS was geniunely so nice and took me back to being forced to go to mass as a kid lol.
Second, I've seen that Garden of Spring in Sydney seem to have a larger range for Filippo Socinelli, including the MEMENTO range for the suggestion the above person gave. I haven't been tho to confirm myself, have seen from social media posts.

If I absolutely had to pick one church scent, it would be Craft, it is the church in the Arctic, the coldest incense I have ever tried

I would love to try Andrea Mack's fragrances, a bit difficult to put the hands on them right now

Balmain Sel d'ambre is my favorite although it doesn't list incense directly I find it closest to church for me and my tastes.

Chambre Secrète is excellent, I don't own it and it's a bit similar to Sel d'ambre but I still find it unique enough.

I find incense to me can come across a bit like a "tie dye shirts and alternative medicine" store if not done well so I am really picky about that note. I lean more towards the frankincense side of churchy.

Interesting ! It's the first time I hear about this one. It does open up the question of what makes a fragrance "churchy".

LAVS is probably the quintessential church sent to me.
But Reliqvia has my heart the most because I am a pine and lumber scent fanatic, but it just reminds me so much of Jesus or a wood statue of him. Specifially is you have ever seen the Guillermo Del Toro version of Pinocchio, Gipetto creates a wood sculpture of Jesus on the cross; that is what Reliqvia smells like to me.

I'm also a big fan of the Comme des Garcons: Incense line, and my favorite of those is Series 3: Incense - Zagorsk ; it is so cold and powdery with the iris, violet, incense, and pine.

You picked exactly what I was about to answer!

I'll add Grimoire which is serene and not austere as Sorcinelli's perfumes, more like a monastery in the countryside and, even tho it has a terrible sillage and lasts very short, La Liturgie des Heures
