Peace to you and those you are honoring on this Memorial Day, Cryptic.

On this day I have been thinking of my sister in the Air Force.
... Getting scolded by hummingbirds for letting their feeder run low.
... Enjoying huge wafts of scent from our jasmine vine. It has had it's best flowering season ever, producing hundreds of flowers for about the past two weeks.
... Seeing the first magnolia blooms of the year.

I have been cleaning up after yesterday's party. One of the dogs sniffed out an empty that was hidden in the peace lily. I love my friends.

I have been busy today. I took a friend to visit my 83 year old neighbor so they could talk about Vietnam and Korea. I bought groceries for the holiday, Porterhouse and Crab Legs. I visited my niece in law at the hospital - very sad situation. I went shopping for vintages and other fragrances. Now I am finally home with a boatload of work to do but I'm playing hooky from work, I'm getting paid to stay home today!

I have been admiring the beautiful rosy red, pink and cream colored lupines growing in front of my living room picture window, and my "Rhapsody in Blue" garden bed in the corner of my yard- irises, salvia, and scabiosa- funny, I didn't plan it this way, for it to be all blue, but I love it-

I have been counting the days until my husband's surgery (June 5)- and praying that he will get total relief from pain and full use of both arms-

Yes, I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Seeing the way that my blue garden has turned out, I have been reminded of the "rainbow" garden in Stockholm at Djurgarden- swathes of red, pink, orange, yellow, blue/purple and white blooms- nice memories

I have been packing for a getaway trip to N'awlins. Will stay 4 days. Hoping the weather will not be scorching hot and the afternoon downpours will not hinder our visiting with friends we made while living there for 9 years. Will be staying at he the casino. We will eat oyster po boys from Mothers, right around the corner from the casino. Will walk down to the quarter to Central Grocery for the famous Muffulettas. Of course we will have our friend drive us to Belle Chase for fried catfish that is to die for. So excited about this trip, it has been 4 years since seeing my dear friend.

I have been enjoying my company all weekend. Had to go back to work today, but it was a NICE weekend.

Yes niece in law is in a coma on a ventilator 21 years old. Lack of oxygen due to pneumonia. Not responding to deep stimulus. Only primitive brain function, so sad.

Oh, my. That's so awful I don't even know what to say.

So sorry to hear about your niece- it's so tragic for someone that young to be so ill-

I have been to hell and back in less than 48 hours. 2 ER visits, an inpatient admission, an ambulance ride, a doctor's appointment, fighting with doctors and insurance and 5 prescriptions later, I might get a little sleep tonight after being awake for more than 36 hours.
