Hi, Blumenblut, nice to see you here.

After all, we are all interested in the same thing. Gorgeous perfumes. The rare and obscure scent. The precious vintage.

There is no end to it.

***Have fun***

Hey Cincy,

I don't know them at all. Are they cool? Hasi's name gets thrown around a lot, because it sounds funny in German, but otherwise I have no idea how to get them to join. Any ideas?

I just wrote Hasi a Private Message (in German) and said, that her presence is wished for.

Blumenblut: Great idea! Thanks so much for coming over here and starting the party with those of us who can't say much more than "kartoffelsalat" auf Deutsch. Embarassed

Maybe we could exchange recipes?

Next to "Kartoffelsalat" comes to mind "Wiener Schnitzel" (Viennese veal cutlet).

"Rote Wurst", "Weisse Wurst", "Leberkaes"

"Marzipan"

"Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte" (Black Forest cake)

Sure, why not?

I'm so glad this site exists. It seems like there are a lot of very sophisticated perfume collectors who are German-speaking. And you are so kind, Pipette, to do the translations.

By incident, I just made some 'Kartoffelsalat' this morning which I will have this evening with Wiener Würstchen. It's easy:

- some leftover potatoes from yesterday's meal, cooked, pealed and sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 pickled cucumber, chopped
- 2 generous spoons of mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon of mustard
- 4 spoons of milk
- salt, black pepper, a few spritzes Worcester sauce
Simply mix everything together and leave it in the fridge for a few hours!

Sorry for being a bit off-topic Smile

Your English is excellent - don't be shy!
I just read your post, although I don't know any of the line, you describe them so well, and in particular I like the words at the end, "hedonist at heart". This is what we are, we ENJOY.

One thing may be to compare perfume tastes:

The German group represents Germany and Europe/
the International group represents U.S.A. and the rest of the world.

Is there a definite difference in perfume tastes? Does the German group prefer the local Jil Sanders, Hugo Boss, etc.?
Does the International Group have separate tastes?

But wait - the German Home page shows a result = "Top Choices by the Community"
www.parfumo.de/

And the International Homepage shows this = "Top Choices by the Community"
www.parfumo.com/?l=97a9fe8a27c1087ebd7bb332528 e9ec43d48d928

A side-by-side comparison shows that the choices were the same.

Have the results been combined to a total of all Parfumos' evaluations? For the sake of simplicity?
