Trying to find a more mature signature scent

Trying to find a more mature signature scent 1

Hello! I am new here, also new to fragrance in general, I am what would say a total noob haha. I have been gradually becoming more interested in fragrance over the past two years, and I really want to get a signature scent. I'm 20 and still use mostly body sprays, with a lot of them being very sweet. I still think they are nice to use sometimes, but I have an urge for a more mature, not overwhelmingly sweet/artificial scent. I was thinking of getting Amazing Grace by Philosophy, but I'm not really sure if that is going in the right direction or not. Does anyone have any suggestions or favorites you like to recommend to people? I'm open to any notes but my favorite note right now is probably pear.

Hi;

Maybe a complicated pear fragrance, search notes on pear here.

However I am not your expert, I just want to keep this forum going.

Remember to try decants first as they are less expensive.  Scent Split is one.

Find a reviewer on parfumo to follow like Ninamariah,  and read their comments.

Good luck.

Hey @SuqarPlum ! Such a great question.

Even if the body mists you use right now are too sweet/not totally your taste, are there any notes in them that you really love so far?

@Daveoo 's suggestion was a good one - to order a few scent samples first of notes that interest you, if you can.

Then you'll start to learn what you do/don't like, which will help you get closer to figuring out what might be a best "signature" for you!

Honestly I really love my body sprays that have coconut or vanilla in them, as well as raspberry or peach. The reason I listed pear as a note I enjoyed was because when I have been to stores to smell perfume for fun, I really enjoyed perfumes like La Belle by Jean Paul Gaultier and God Is A Woman by Ariana Grande for example, but I haven't really worn any of those, only smelled in the store. I will definitely use the advise or ordering some samples to see what I might like the most Very Happy!

@SuqarPlum that's awesome you've already tried some in store that you enjoyed! ☺️ I go in to stores with fragrances all the time just to test them, and when I find one I like I'll keep coming back to test it on my skin a few times/over time just to see if it's something worth buying later, so I get how it takes time to figure it out (or in case ordering samples is too expensive)! Some more pear-forward scents:

Pear Inc.
English Pear & Freesia Cologne

Whatever you do, don’t blind buy full bottles.
