This type of glass bottle seems less common.  Just wondering if anyone else feels like fluted glass bottles (think whiskey glasses) or or the patterned type glass bottles feel antiquated to you?

I assume its less common because it's more expensive but I get the feeling fragrance houses that want to come across as more modern are ditching this bottle type.

Hi DrydownLofi,
The bottle design is essential. The more elegant it is, the more acceptable it will be. The color of the fragrance is also a crucial part of a perfume.

I love fluted glass bottles, it's iconic in fragrance bottles. It is part of the inspiration when buying the perfume. Sometimes, you can't smell the perfume, but the design of the bottle inspires you. I'll give you a couple of examples.

Here are some bottle designs examples that have made history. Lauder for Men Estée Lauder, Eau Sauvage Dior, English Lavender Alfred Dunhill..

Women also have a lot of super stylish bottles., examples Mimmina, Attar Al Mohabba, Insolence and Vol de Nuit by Guerlain.

fluted glass bottles are fantastic, exotic and beautiful. They should design these types of bottles today.

I agree with @Suchel .  The bottle is part of the presentation. "Clean lines" are a part of modernism - I thought that was left behind in the 50's and 60's. These days of corporations trying to squeeze the last penny out of every product, it's no surprise bottle designs are cheaper. And that goes for labels and bottle decorations. I get especially turned off on an expensive fragrance if the bottle and label look cheap.

I don’t think so, Kenzo, Chloe, Valentino, some xerjoffs, and many others make textured bottles. But yes, for me not textured bottles looks better, however with textured I’ve got nice touchy feelings.

I love textured bottles but they add more cost to the final bottle price and today big perfume houses try to reduce those costs. But you can always decant perfume into those bottles, I guess you can buy them online too. I think Oskar Karla sell them.
