...Speaking as someone from Asia this whole debate is pretty demoralising. Personally I would rather not see the word 'oriental' because of the way it conjures up the 'mystic orient' myth and associated negative feelings. It is also inaccurate as a description. While I understand that it's difficult to change a historical term, it is hardly an unprecedented ordeal. Other fields in the humanities have also encountered similar issues and embraced evolving language as a necessity. Maybe I'm naive but why we can't develop a new word for this category? If amber is too confusing, what about resinous? warm spicy? Or straight up call it Shalimar? Why is it so hard and why can't we try? My vote would be to change this outdated term as many other platforms have done so.

I heard Delina Exclusif and Eau Rose Eau de Parfum aren't as opulent, is that true ? Finally, I wondered if someone has tried Halfeti Rose ?To me Delina Exclusif is more of a confectionery, candy type rose on the fruity & vanilla side. It's intense but I don't associate it with opulence. Eau Rose is more delicate & watery like roses in a florist shop.

...ScentNebulaI have not been part of the fragrance community for very long and only joined the F site a few weeks ago, though I've been browsing perfumes on there for years. I was not aware of the owner's bigotry when I joined the F site, otherwise I would never have signed up. I was excited to share my fragrance journey on the forums and hoping to engage in discussion, but instead someone was rude to me and made me feel like I shouldn't be there. I decided I wanted to delete my account as I clearly wasn't welcome in the community, but couldn't figure out how to do so. While trying to google the solution, some of the first results that came up were a reddit thread and a page on trustpilot where people were sharing their experiences of bigotry, harassment, bullying, unfair practices and doxxing on the F site. Many also mentioned that it's impossible to delete your account. I looked into it and sure enough, while the Privacy Policy says you can delete your account by going to account settings, I am able to find no such setting. This seems like it would actually be illegal.All of this has made me feel not just disillusioned, but quite unsafe. I take my online privacy and control of my information very seriously and don't feel like I'm in good hands with the F site. I really hope that Parfumo will be a more welcoming and safe environment. Since the community here is smaller I'm excited to be able to contribute to its growth.Yeah you have to message the mod in order to delete your account, it's very frustrating. I emailed them and waited days with no reply. Then I changed my profile pic to the Ukranian flag and voila my account got deleted instantly 🙃

...No one has mentioned them yet so I'll add Gris Charnel Eau de Parfum (Assam / black tea) & "Graines Vagabondes - Winter Palace | Memo Paris" (Rooibos)

...They also have a few discovery sets. I'm working my way through the 21 set and so far only Wūlóng Chá Extrait de Parfum & Sultan Vetiver have really grabbed me. But most of them have great performance as expected of extrait. I find the house's DNA quite dark & heavy, but there're definitely some interesting compositions if not very wearable in an office setting.

...Fig is also my favourite! ❤️ Both Philosykos and Premier Figuier are great options and pretty much the classic go-to for fig. They're both more on the green side with average longevity. Premier Figuier is much sweeter in comparison, and has more of a dried fig vibe.My favourite fig is Ichnusa which is a beautifully realistic fig without being too sweet. It's probably the greenest one on this list so you might want to sample it first. Amazing longevity. Essential Parfums' Fig Infusion is another fig/floral option but it's quite citrus-y in the opening. Average longevity on me. Debaser is very fig-centric but with more coconut and a bit sweeter than the others. It's very fun and a crowd pleaser. Also great longevity. Alluring Fig is a recent fig favourite. It's a very simple & realistic fig supported by vanilla. The drydown is unfortunately more vanilla but the fig wears beautifully. Also great longevity. Some other less fig-centric options: The Noir has a lovely fig opening but it's darker and tea based. Very dry, woody and slightly smoky, I love it personally. Gris Charnel is the same deal (fig opening and black tea) but the fig is less prominent. Basilico & Fellini is a fruity fig with a lot of freshness. It gives a sunny summer vibe. Yesterday's Haze, I find it more fruity but fig definitely plays a role in it. Very sweet and creamy. Hope this helps!

Shipping to Australia is always expensive so I'm not sure if it's worth it. The discovery set they sell here has 8 scents including Erba pura, Naxos, La Capitale, Nio, More than words, Ivory route, Uden overdose and Renaissance. Wish I get to pick and choose tho! I can also order individual samples (Starlight looks really cool) but the discovery set seems more economical 

...Hi, I'm thinking of getting the Xerjoff sample set to see what the fuss is about. What are your thoughts on Xerjoff as a brand and their popular offerings? I'm also keen to know how diverse their fragrances are as I don't want to end up with 8 similar one note samples. I tend to prefer more unisex green/woody/fresh/spicy scents. Not super into gourmand or tobacco based scents. Would Xerjoff be a good fit? 

...Not sure if this is an issue for anyone else but my Rarely worn tracker seems broken. It shows me a few that I've only worn once or twice but the rest of the list is just random 🤷🏻‍♀️. My most worn is tied between Pacific Rock Moss and Luberon (x7 in 2023). Probably because they're both safe office grabs 😅Edit: I just realised that Rarely worn is sorted by date rather than frequency! That makes so much more sense now

...I got the mini discovery set for her and it's worth it in my opinion. The fragrances are diverse and they come in high quality glass atomisers. Cute packaging too. I ended loving two and can see myself using up the rest of the samples
