Fresh Oud
Let me tell you a story,
about a small sample with a big impact.
A few months ago, a Souk package arrived at my place again. I can no longer recall the date or the actual contents. However, I do remember the little extra that overshadowed everything else. In the package was - who would have thought - a small sample of Şah.
Shortly before, I had the luck to also test the Haibah as a small extra. This one literally overwhelmed me with its complexity and strong authentic oud notes. While I have come to like it more and more over time, I was initially put off by too strong oud at that moment.
So when I first smelled the sample, I was cautiously curious about what special experience awaited me. But when I finally sprayed it on, it was a true jackpot.
For me personally, this fragrance is the perfect balance between prominent oud and pleasant bright notes. The oud is constantly present, yet it does not overshadow the metallic-aquatic notes.
It is precisely this combination that makes this fragrance so special to me. The often oriental-sweet oud scents do not really match my taste, even though I often find them very beautiful on others. The Şah, on the other hand, is so pleasing that anyone can wear it, even though I perceive it as a rather masculine scent. At the same time, it suits a wide range of wind and weather. Of course, it has a refreshing quality due to the metallic-aquatic notes, but the oud and spices round it off so well that it remains clearly wearable even on colder days.
And so I ultimately couldn't help but acquire this magnificent specimen.
Especially after a fragrant friend came to me with both the purchase and the review beforehand ;)
