Oriental & Overpriced
Fars (or “Farts”, as a friend of mine correctly referred to this) opens as a fairly pleasant patchouli-ambergris floral scent with sweet-anisic notes and a juicy-herbal, and slightly fruity touch which kind of reminded me of tea. Sandalwood and vetiver on the base, both quite conventional but pleasant (the sort of “juicy” sweetness may come from sandalwood, probably). That’s it for quite long, also oud-ish somehow, even if it is not listed. Then it slowly becomes more dry, more astringent and decidedly muskier, in a partially pleasant way; the muskiness is “real”, grayish and dusty, but also revealing a synthetic bitterness which won’t go away. Still counter-balanced but sweet-floral and ambery notes. Overall a globally inoffensive musky-earthy-woody scent with floral-sweet nuances, posh and restrained, resembling to any Montale just replacing oud with a patchouli-ambroxan-woods accord. That same kind of synthetic, trendy “elegance” is here too. Conventionally sophisticated, safely uncreative and not particularly distinctive, “smelling expensive” (before than “good”), fairly plastic and utterly pretentious. But long-lasting. The price tag is hilariously pathetic, but if you find it on sale for 30/40 EUR, then it’s worthy the purchase.

I don't think so
Fars opens up very rosy and somewhat sweet. The rose subsides or I should say is subsumed into a more generic, sweet floral scent. If there's any oud in there, I can't find it. Strange, coming from the "Oud Stars" collection. Not animalic or barnyard stinky at all. Eventually, a smooth and creamy woody accord appears. Longevity is quite good, while sillage is at the top end of average. I'm only giving the scent a poor rating from my perspective (as a man wearing it). Fars is woman perfume and I'd love to smell this on a woman.

Oud stars collection
This was my first dive into a Xerjoff fragrance and the presentation Including the box and glass is something to die for, opening the box and you see quality and the fragrance is even better . The lavender note in this I have never smelled that note so smooth. Although I'm not a fan of jasmine the note in this fragrance pay well, combined with some resinous notes from the amber and I don't know do this house use real oud, but it smell very realistic. This is one of my better oud based fragrance and the performance is out of this world.

Xerjoff Fars
I find some common points with ouds from The Different Company (Oud for love / Oud Shamash - both
definitely worth trying).

However, Fars is a different perfume altogether. Probably worth the extra money too.

Performs very well, and the scent is so evoking! This is the one with a kind of medicinal/chemical facet, which tones down with time, but still keeps you interested.

Fars by Xerjoff
At first, it smells very strong and spicy. After half an hour, the smell become ambergris -floral like. I can smell geranium after 10 minutes. The smell is very special. I say it's different from all the perfumes I've tried so far.

In the middle note, I smell ambergris, saffron, and geranium in order of concentration. It's really special. It smells like saffron mixed with geranium and has a bit of a sweet taste.

Perhaps, one reason that this perfume named FARS is for saffron in it. as you know Saffron is the traditional plant in Fars (Iran).
I'll buy you, my beautiful one.

I do get some oud ala Alexandria II but way overpowered by sweet, boozy, jammy rose. Could be a Tony Iommi flanker.

Brief gasoline opening leads to warm woods, flower bouquet, and patchouli (with slight medicinal edge). Nice!

Spicy oud smell…I feel like there’s rose in it but there isn’t any! Nice scent more masculine but it’s like I ve smelled this before!

A fresh and clean spicy-floral Mid season fragrance, balanced by a warm earthy-woody base. Gentle take on Oud, with Ambergris as a bonus!

Zero oud. Woody, floral, warm, dusty incense (e.g. Encens Mythique), some earthiness; emulating the smell of an incense stick - succeeds.

Very old school - not stinky but dusty lavender with dry amber woodiness. Floral undertones constantly noticeable, mostly jasmine/rose

Opens floral w/ some ambers & mild oud (feels like rose, but not listed). Eventually goes masculine aromatic (neat evolution). Fall-winter.

The most different “Oud Stars”, pleasant, polished, soft blend. Woody floral, Rose like scent from Geranium w/ mild Oud. Versatile, calming.

Fars is a beautiful parfum, but it's below the big Xerjoffs and it's quite similar in composition and quality to Arabians by Montale.
