A bridge between Syria and the Netherlands
During a short vacation in Holland in April, I discovered Abdolito's charming little perfumery in Leiden by chance. As soon as I entered the store, I could feel the special atmosphere that this place exudes. Every fragrance enthusiast knows that the first few seconds of entering a perfumery usually decide whether you feel at home there. I immediately felt very comfortable here.
Abdolito himself greeted me and my companion warmly and took a lot of time to guide us through his unique fragrance collection. His friendliness and expertise in the field of fragrances made my visit an unforgettable experience.
Among the various fragrances I tried, "Emata" stood out in particular. The fragrance, which comes in a black bottle with an eye-catching label, bears the symbol of his Syrian hometown, according to Abdulrazzak - a touching tribute to his roots.
"Emata" impresses with its complex composition: the fragrance opens with fresh, very spicy and slightly citrusy notes, which quickly transition into a warm, spicy heart. I associate the start with opening a can of cola, this spicy effervescence that briefly comes to mind, perhaps due to the cinnamon note? I also notice the fruity notes, such as apple and bergamot at the beginning, although these are listed in the base. In the heart, the fragrance becomes sweeter and woodier. This woodiness intensifies in the base and I can now also detect the tobacco note. Woods, vanilla, amber and a very subtle musky note give the fragrance a long-lasting depth and warmth. Somehow, the fragrance pyramid seems to have been turned on its head. In my opinion, it is a fragrance that can be worn during the day in fall/winter as well as in the evening. It tends very discreetly in the masculine direction.
The fragrance is traditional and oriental on the one hand and sparkling and modern on the other.
In addition to "Emata", I also bought two other fragrances Guapa Eau de Parfum and Fiesta Extrait de Parfum, which are also worth mentioning and perfectly complement my perfume collection.
