Lattafa Asad Elixir
Another sensational drugstore fragrance that I came across through Miki Monumental on his YouTube channel "Pleite Wegen Düfte". Thanks again at this point.
Originally, Asad found its way into my collection because it is supposed to be like Sauvage Elixir. So far, I was also quite happy with the alternative from Lattafa... However, I got my hands on the fragrance from Müller and I have to say: it's really pure.
The fragrance is very resinous and dark throughout. The top note starts with lots of spice and licorice. It almost smells like a spiced cola, which is really unique. After a while, the pungent spiciness subsides and it becomes slightly mossy and even a little fresh. The whole thing is accompanied by gentle lavender.
The intensity of "Golden Saffron | Lou de Pre" is very remarkable. When I tested it in the drugstore, it almost blew me away.
Overall, this is a loud fragrance that easily lasts 6 hours.
Now the question arises: Do I prefer the Asad by Lattafa or the Müller alternative? For my part, I like the Golden Saffron more. That's because of the intensity of the fragrance. When it comes to fragrances, I'm a fan of anything that pops and that's more the case with the Golden Safran than the Asad. This is not to say that the Müller fragrance is superior to the Lattafa dupe in all respects. The Asad still has its raison d'être for those who want a slightly less resinous and pungent version with a little more freshness. I also have to admit that the strong intensity of the Golden Saffron wears off quickly over time and is on a par with (or further below) the Asad. In addition, the shelf life is also somewhat weaker. It is also 6-9€ cheaper than the Lattafa fragrance.
In summary, it can be said that both fragrances are very similar to their great role model and do a very good job for their price range. I would like to wear the Golden Saffron in the fall or for special occasions.
