Girl of the Year - Personified
If this fragrance was a woman, she would own a small, dimly lit shop. The walls would be lined with old vinyl records and thrifted art. It would be an eclectic shop, filled with vintage clothes, books, VHS tapes, the occasional oddity; anything she found interesting, really. It would be rare to see her without a cigarette between her lips, which would always be painted a deep crimson.

indie sleaze
Lipstick and incense smoke cling to a worn leather jacket, grounded by sandalwood and orris root. It’s the lingering scent of a socialite on a jacket left behind at a party. Someone who is “here for a good time, not a long time” for better or worse.

It reminds me of the indie sleaze era of glitter and greasy eyeliner, smudged lipstick and chipped nail polish, cigarettes on the rooftop against a thumping soundtrack of The Knife and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. This perfume feels like a remnant of times long past, only recalled through hazy memories and blurry film photos. Prior incarnations of oneself dredged from the back of a closet.

The 70s are back
As Daisy Jones said

"I had absolutely no interest in being somebody else's muse.
I am not a muse.
I am the somebody."

Unfortunately, I'm a bit too young to have experienced the 70s. But I have a great passion for the artists, the outfits and the music history of that time. Women like Stevie Nicks, Patti Smith and Kate Bush all had that charisma for which they are still icons today.
Strong women, red lipstick, rock music, long nights, winter in New York? dusty fur coats and cigarettes in a bar - that's what the fragrance smells like to me. Nostalgic but at the same time modern and self-confident.

This is what Nat Scatorccio would wear for a night out. Pairs well with smokey eyes, a leather jacket, a shag cut. Stunning.

Very Carrie Bradshaw's closet, @girlswhocluster coded. Love the notes, but on me it's turning sour and acidic. Still rooting for it.
