Interesting Facts
Some creative people don't even need to have inherited their passion from their families; the feeling of exclusivity is simply in their blood. The German fashion brand "MCM" is exemplary in this matter.
Born in 1939, Michael Cromer was supposed to become an economist. Cromer financed his studies with several side jobs - including modeling and acting. This is how he came into contact with the colorful and dazzling party scene in Munich in the early 1970s, which immediately appealed to him. Cromer, therefore, opened his hairdressing salon in 1972, which quickly became a VIP meeting place because he also gave away little cosmetic bags made by him to the ladies. That was the beginning of Peter Michael Cromer's fashion brand.
In 1975, the first suitcases, bags, and accessories followed; all of them were noble and made in the same style. His impressive network in the Munich party scene got him some presentations at fashion fairs, and in 1977, the designer broke with his hairdressing profession to further expand his brand. In the same year, the foundation of "MCM" (Moderne Creation München Reisegepäck GmbH) became official.
After opening several boutiques, "MCM" launched its first women's fragrance in 1984, and the first men's fragrance premiered in 1986. More fragrances, new suitcases, backpacks, bags, as well as a dense network of boutiques made "MCM" one of the top-selling fashion labels worldwide at the beginning of the new millennium.
The company operates several fashion boutiques in Europe, the USA, and South Korea, each with a nationwide online store.

If Sauvage is not tart enough for you
MCM is not exactly known for men's fragrances, so they have to prove themselves there first. What's the quickest way to get a foot in the door? Apparently, by copying one of the most successful men's fragrances of the last 10 years.
