Folks, hold on tight - this fragrance kicks off with a bang! Artificial banana aroma - right in your face!
I’ll say it like it is - the first act is more banana gum than haute perfumery. But wait! Don’t put the sample aside just yet, because after a few minutes…
Plot twist: The banana madness subsides and a really lovely vanilla pudding vibe follows - warm, creamy, cozy. Followed by passion fruit and strawberry!
Sweet? Yes. But now comes the contrast: Tonka bean enters the stage. But not as a harsh villain like in some other fragrances. Rather gently, almost whispering.
But then - Ambroxan crashes the party. Like that guy who shows up uninvited to every party and thinks he’s the star, but is actually just annoying. This piercing ingredient... why? Why Ambroxan again and again?
Sorry, but at €4 per milliliter - I want dessert, not drama. Yes, yes I’m getting a bit worked up. But this is not an isolated case: Time and again you stumble upon these exciting, bold compositions that really entice. Fragrances with character, with soul - almost little works of art. And then? Bam - Ambroxan. It’s that certain sting that comes out of nowhere and briefly pulls you out of it.
BUT: Not everything is lost. The fragrance has these phases - you keep catching moments where Ambrox hides away and the exciting DNA gets its space. And that is special. Really special. Not for everyone - but that’s exactly what niche is all about, right?
What I have to give the brand credit for: The fragrances truly feel reimagined. Just for that reason, I’m glad to have tested all the gourmand scents from the house.
Especially this one: A real experience on the skin. The progression is exciting, unexpected, almost cinematic - from a wild start to a gentle landing. And honestly: Even if no bottle purchase comes out of it in the end, just the journey there was worth it.
