An interesting cherry
In my opinion, Black Cherry only partly lives up to its name. There is indeed a relatively dark cherry active here, but only somewhat later and above all due to the other notes here and there as counterparts.
However, if you define the name purely as a translation of the cherry, i.e. as black cherry, it comes closer, even though the pyramid does not directly list a black cherry.
In any case, the fragrance starts off relatively fruity and sweet, just like cherries are often known from fragrances.
However, it is interesting that I somehow also get a slight marzipan vibe in the first seconds or first minute. But you could also define it as caramel, although for me marzipan comes a little closer.
Shortly afterwards, however, this impression is gone again and the fruity sweetness comes through again. I also associate this a little with cherry sweets. My friend had the impression of cherry chewing gum.
After a few moments, a slight dark twist is added. At least the cherry now has a slightly different effect due to the rum.
I like this phase best, because this is the kind of cherry fragrance I prefer to look for at the moment. Cherry X by Kai Porten is a prime example of this for me.
Over time, some sandalwood also joins in, as well as tonka bean.
Unfortunately, this beautiful phase that I have just described does not last until the end.
At some point, the moment comes when I personally can perceive more of the fruity side again and I didn't really want that. Nevertheless, the fragrance is well done! Brand 1973 generally makes a great impression on me with imaginative and high-quality fragrances in its repertoire.
The fragrance is definitely unisex and the performance is also quite positive.
I can recommend testing the fragrances from this house and possibly being convinced.
