Oriental Zero
Even though I have a moderate interest in fashion - I had never heard of the Spanish designer Angel Schlesser. Judging by this perfume, I haven't missed much, but I wanted to change that. Because actually, with Oriental Dream, he is trying to do exactly what can make me happy. But he doesn't quite succeed.

Oriental Dream is not an oriental dream, nor a nightmare. More like the Orient without depth, the Orient without feelings, the Orient for your pocket. As we Europeans imagine it, a mishmash of synthetic berries, cheap vanilla & penetrating sweetness, plus a kind of 90s synthetic vibe of Adidas Adventure or Ceasars Men. Opium PH in a flat version, a wearable but somewhat sticky mix of Pure Havane & especially Animale Animale. I still love sweet scents the most, but they shouldn't be so dull & one-dimensional. The mentioned comparison scents, on the other hand, all smell like pure niche, even the reformulated Opium or the quite biting Animale.

I’m not even necessarily demanding a earthier, more masculine, or more mature counterpart to the sugar staccato, but such a quickly cheap-sounding theme should at least be presented in a high-quality, different, or varied way. This is an attempt, a study, but unfortunately for me, it’s not a recommendable perfume. Not even for 30€, not even if there are plus points for the possibility of being worn by women.

Bottle: simple & definitely not ugly
Sillage: strong, more for evenings when things can still get lively
Longevity: here the overly sweet chemical lab magic shows its advantages - almost 10 hours.

Conclusion: on paper still quite nice, but on the skin rather cheap & flat wannabe-oriental. I’d rather stick with Sweet Oriental Dream by Montale, a real oriental dream!

Dark berry, very woody oriental with a bit too much sweetness
Already 4 years old and still unmentioned?
Given the aromas of this fragrance, I find that a bit surprising.

Especially those who usually have a penchant for a) oriental and b) gourmand perfumes should actually be quite excited about "Oriental Dream".

What we have here is a fundamentally pleasant-smelling, dark fruity, gourmandishly sweet, ambered men's fragrance.

In the opening, prominent blackcurrant, well-known from YSL's "Opium pour homme", pairs with a somewhat more subdued orange, which also has a somewhat "darker" aromatic quality, quite close to dried fruit.

The tangerine (mandarin) likely plays a role here, making the fruity notes feel more autumnal than summery.

An oriental drift emerges early on through the slightly green-resinous, subtly smoky galbanum.

A fundamental sweetness hovers over everything, probably the vanilla from the base, which lingers throughout. The amber also supports the sensual overall impression with sweet, slightly floral nuances.

The indicated woody notes do come into play, but only very moderately; they only moderately compete with the sweetness. Unfortunately, I hardly notice the patchouli.

Overall, I find it a bit too insistent in its gourmand nature, a touch too directly sweet. I miss a balancing, more bitter base note that grounds the whole thing in a more masculine way.

However, perfume lovers who truly enjoy scents like "Herod" or "Ambre Narguilé" should also be grinning joyfully and contentedly here.

A mix of Opium pour Homme and Zara's 3:00. The scent lacks depth, longevity, and sillage. But it's not bad. Unisex.

A very interesting scent! Sweet, fresh, and woody all at once! Tangerine, amber, patchouli, and vanilla are prominent. Definitely unisex!
