Nostalgic Memory

Purchased spontaneously in Olbia about 15 years ago. The day before, I had been waiting in the water at the beach of La Maddalena. From these impressions, the fragrance works excellently - what I mean is, it needs the right imagery to unfold its effect.
So, a public pool here is rather suboptimal...

Almond Milk Lets Tired Girls Sleep On

When I think of "Acqua di Sardegna," a lot comes to mind. The sea, the beach, Bella Italia, sun, relaxation, summer. But almond milk, not necessarily. Yet "Smeralda Woman" is exactly that, a milky almond gourmand.

This white river of milk and sugar most closely resembles Acqua di Parma's "Mandorlo di Sicilia," but it never reaches its level of sophistication. This fragrance, whose name always reminds me of Quasimodo's beautiful gypsy girlfriend, doesn't hurt anyone, nor does it do anyone any good. For almond fans, and those who want to become one, it's an option among dozens. To give the scent a summery shine, there should have been some twist hidden somewhere. Be it a cocktail-like fizz or a salty sea whisper. But it remains a milky almond brew, a warm milk that too often makes feet and noses fall asleep. A safe, one-dimensional beginner scent. It has its place. I don't have to love it.

Bottle: the color hardly matches the content. The bottle itself is nice, though.
Sillage: a trimmed little almond - very tame.
Longevity: after 5 hours, I could barely sense it anymore.

Conclusion: if you're looking for a summer scent, you're in the wrong place. If you're looking for an almond scent, there are better alternatives. Somehow, this almond water is caught in between. Not a bad fragrance, but quicker to forget than it takes to book a trip to Sardinia on Check24.
