Wellness in a bottle

If the Mantra "inhale - exhale" came with a scent, this would be it.

Wearing this makes me feel like I am in the most luxurious spa. It is this warm, comfy and fluffy musk that hugs me and gives me instant relaxation and inner peace.

For me it is not exactly one of the clean scents as it doesn't give the faint soapy out-of-the-shower smell. It is more like you spent a day at the spa, received some beauty treatments with essential oils and wrapped yourself in the fluffiest cashmere sweater afterwards, which is still warm from hanging in the sun in a flower garden.

Out of the listed notes, I could not pinpoint any of them specifically apart from the obvious musk. Overall it is warm, fluffy and slightly floral with a hint of sweetness. It is beautifully blended and it's longevity is superb.

Love it with every fiber of my being and never want to be without it again. Rebuy for life.

Summer fragrance

Very lovely scent for summer, fruity, creamy and musky. Addictive even. When you think the citrus is gone, it pops up again later, love that! I own a bottle and I'm not mad about it. The more I wear it, the more it grows on me, I like it a lot but will it be a love ? Time will tell. I own Erba Pura aswell and it doesn't remind me of it. Maybe far far far related cousins?? Side by side test ? Yes for sure ! I will update my review.

The body smell of your crush sweating, but in the BEST way possible.

Okay, this is making me feral, bestial, ferocious, I don't know what word to use.

After the first quarter-hour, there's a smell that settles in, which is SO good and the best way I can describe it is that it's a super-attractive skin scent, but with an almost "dirty" twist.

This is going to sound weird, but you see how some people, when they sweat, they smell really bad, and other people, when they sweat, you just want to full-on make-out with them ? (Emphasis the word "want" and nothing more, because reminder : consent and respect are non-negotiable lol).
Musk Therapy makes me feel exactly the same as when I smell that category of people who sweat but smell "good", or rather "attractive".
(And I think it has to do with the biochemistry of human pheromones and human compatibility. The brain smells the pheromones of the person in front of you, and if the person smells good/attractive to you, it's because the chemical characteristics of their smell show your brain that their immune system would work perfectly with yours, which makes your brain be attracted to this person because reproduction with them would create a child with an excellent chance of survival. ANYWAY, all this to say that each person will smell another person differently depending on their genetics, but that even if we won't find the same people smell "attractive", we've all been attracted to someone's smell at one time or another, so keep that in mind).

NOW IMAGINE that person, or your boyfriend, (or girlfriend for the straights lol), or crush, future crush, whatever, but someone you're strongly physically attracted to, imagine them finishing their workout/outdoor run, still panting, short of breath, muscles worn and almost tetanizing, but NOT to the point where they're dripping with sweat and it's disgusting, right before that, at the point when you see them, you lose all reason, you restrain yourself from jumping on them, you have no control over your thoughts whatsoever, and it's almost problematic.
Well, to me, Musk Therapy smells EXACTLY like that.

What the hell, this stuff goes on my wishlist straight away, though, bordel, it's expensive.

(Maybe it's the hormones writing this review lol, but anyways)
(Oh and everyone seems to smell a "clean loundry fresh skin scent", so it's maybe because of my skin chemistry that I smell this almost "dirty" musk, be aware that maybe it will not smell like that on your skin, but OH MY GOD i'm thankful for my genes and skin chemistry because it transforms that perfume into the most sensual one i've ever tried)

I'm laughing at what I am not sure is actual copy or editorializing by LuckyScent for Initio's Musk Therapy. They write of "pleasure receptors activated, the mind being energized, and inner peace and pure delight." and I love you Luckyscent, but you are A LOT. And before you argue that I'm jealous because I'm not the staff writer tasked with churning out this poetic perfumed piffle...well, ok. You're right. I'm jealous. It was not for their description that I bought it, though. Victoria of EauMg described it as smelling like "hot people effortlessly being hot" and friends, I am not immune to that sort of hyperbole I'll even one-up it. This is a fragrance that makes you feel like you're just better than everyone. And you'll smell so good, they'll go with it. It's got a beautiful bitter sourness like the salvia flowers just outside my house, which smell like velvety aldehydes and sparkling grapefruit peels and a musky magnolia and sandalwood soapiness that's neither too much of one or the other and wow...this really is a flawless, perfect summer scent.

Edited to add: a friend just described this as "Abercrombie and Witch" and that is so perfect. Musk Therapy has got a sort of citrusy-fresh normie aspect to it that seems like something you smell all the time, but it's somehow elevated to an almost preternatural extent, like citrusy fresh as commissioned by a kajillionaire sorceress. I wear it because on one hand it makes me feel like I'm blending in, but at the same time, I'm reassuring myself, "no, no, you're really different, you're NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS" and that's when the full moon peeks from behind a cloud and then I wolf out and bite a Karen's head off when she chirps about good vibes only. No Karen, we're gonna sit with our shit and do some shadow work and we're gonna smell really hot while we're doing it.

Perfect fruity, fluffy, skin-like musk

Easy to wear but interesting. The mandarin in Musk Therapy reminds me of multivitamin juice. I don't get a lot of bergamot and black currant, it's more of a general juicy orange fruitiness. At first I was not sure if I liked that, but after several tries it grew on me immensely and now I love it. This accord is certainly different from other citrus notes.

There is also a soft milky sweetness about this. No vanilla is listed, but it smells slightly vanillic to me. Maybe that's what they call pink musk? Something sweeter than the usual white musk? I'm not sure what to make of fantasy notes like this. Together with the fruit it makes me think of those solid yogurt snacks from the refrigerated section or some kind of milky mousse or cake filling.
Now don't get me wrong, this is not a gourmand. It just has some edible aspects, but just like the name suggests, there is also a lot of musk in this. It's fluffy and floral-infused at first sniff, but when I have this on my skin for a while, a hint of sharpness comes through. My nose is quite sensitive to sharp musks and they can ruin fragrances for me, but Musk Therapy contains just the perfect small dose to cut through the overall softness.

I kind of get why some people compare this to Byredo Bal d'Afrique, they have similar sweet citruses on a musky base, but I don't think they're the same or even very close. This is milkier, not as woody and has a prominent mandarin which BdA doesn't have. And I also get why it's compared to the sweeter, creamier Montblanc Signature. It's somewhere between them.

Musk Therapy is a very versatile fragrance that I would wear all year round for most occasions, except for parties and events when I just need something bolder. Even though it's a clean, perfumey musk, the scent feels natural on my skin, like it enhances my own scent without crossing into unpleasant body odor territory. Hard to explain, might sound weird, but I didn't want to leave this part of my impression out.

This is an older review from years ago and I kind of forgot about this scent, but right now I'm sniffing it on a blotter again and think I might need to add it to my wishlist. You can never have enough fluffy musks, right?
