Perfect Shower Gel Scent
I must confess that I see nothing negative in the term "shower gel scent." On the contrary.
Like music, light, and a thousand other impressions, scent is closely linked to feelings, moods, and memories. One can recall memories through fragrances (like Grandpa's Tabac aftershave) or enhance moods and feelings. This one enhances one of the best everyday sensations: the freshness after a shower. Nothing more, nothing less. There are certainly situations where one might want to smell sweeter, leatherier, smokier, creamier, or powdery, but isn't "fresh" much more often the goal? The scent is not sophisticated, fades quickly, but it is pleasant and extends the freshness after showering a bit. It doesn't annoy, doesn't cling, doesn't change its character... after a while, it's simply gone. Uncomplicated and unpretentious. My son (12) loves it, and I like it for what it is and wants to be. Unlike many other drugstore scents, it doesn't aspire to be more than it can be. There are too many fragrances on the Caline/LaRive shelf that become sweet and dull after 5 minutes. This one prefers to disappear before it becomes bothersome.
For adults, one might naturally look for something with a bit more edge and character. Perhaps a little wood or something like that. I used to have a Dior Homme Sport that I liked very much. But that is a nonsensical and unnecessary comparison.
