Plum Delight

Having previously owned rare bottles of Oud Tabac and Safran rare, i've tested nearly all fragrances from Amouroud, and surely i can detect a familiar DNA in this scent. It echoes the richness of Oud Tabac and Oud du Jour - both of which are exceptional. However, this fragrance stands oud with the addition of ripe plums, apricot, and a hint of booziness, blending seamlessly with the deep notes of oud, tobacco, incense, and perhaps even a touch of leather accord. The result is captivating, dreamlike fragrance that's an absolute pleasure to wear. There are also faint similarities to Plum Japonais. This is a bold, dark creation with a love for plums at its heart.

Fire Devil

You know how it is: You meet someone in the city in the morning for a chat, grab a coffee, and stroll around... Unwittingly, you end up in the luxury department store to kill some time, and suddenly find yourself in the fragrance section :-D

And while you’re chatting away, you spray a few scents - and then BAM!!!
You’re literally blown away - what an amazing fragrance...!

Oud After Dark starts off fiery-spicy with a wonderfully strong saffron - with a good kick of pepper, a little fire devil ;-)
Saffron is one of my absolute favorite notes, and here I am fully satisfied!! The saffron is golden, slightly "chlorine-like," and very present! (You really have to like saffron; otherwise, love won’t blossom)
Then the saffron is embraced by a delicate-sweet apricot (I usually don’t like fruity notes in fragrances, but here the apricot is very skillfully and subtly used). The gentle sweetness of the apricot perfectly complements the fiery-spicy-chlorine saffron....

Next comes a soft leather note (which here does not come off as synthetic at all)... the wild leather paired with a hint of tobacco and incense... They surround the saffron-apricot combo very skillfully and harmonize perfectly with each other....

A gentle hint of oud and amber follows later on - but the saffron and apricot remain ever-present....

The scent lasts quite a long time on me... Sprayed on in the morning at the department store, still very present in the late afternoon, and by evening - I couldn’t help myself - I bought it.... ;-)

Even though the fragrance is quite heavy and probably better suited for the cooler seasons, I just can’t help but wear it even in "warmer" temperatures....
