Fire Devil
You know how it is: You meet someone in the morning to chat in the city, go for a coffee and stroll through the city... Unsuspecting into a luxury department store, to pass the time, you end up in the fragrance department by chance :-D
And while you are chatting to each other like this, you spray a few scents on - and then PÄNG!!!!
One is literally knocked out of one's socks - what a great scent...!
Oud After Dark starts fiery and spicy with a great strong saffron - with a lot of pepper in the ass, a little fire devil ;-)
Saffron is one of my favourite notes and here I am fully served! The saffron is golden, slightly "chlorous" and very present! (one should like saffron already, otherwise it becomes nothing with the love)
Then the saffron is enmeshed by a delicately sweet apricot (I don't really like fruit baskets in fragrances, but here the apricot is used very skillfully and discreetly). The delicate sweetness of the apricot complements the fiery, spicy, chlorine-like saffron just perfectly...
Then follows a soft leather note (this one doesn't seem synthetic at all)... the wild leather paired with a hint of tobacco and incense... They surround the saffron-apricot-combination very skilfully and harmonize perfectly with each other...
A gentle hint of oud and amber follow later - but really always present, the saffron and apricot...
The smell lingers on me for a long time... Sprayed in the morning in the department store, still very present in the late afternoon, in the evening then - I couldn't help it - I bought it... ;-)
Even though the fragrance is very heavy and probably fits better into the cooler season, I just can't help it and have to wear it even in "warmer" temperatures
