In the Garden with Jasmine and Apricots
Lovely Blossom, the name says it all: This is about blossoms and sweetness. Rounded off with charming fruitiness and smooth polished wood.
The scent is dominated by jasmine, which occasionally adds a slightly animalistic touch, while the fruity notes of apricot (like jam or compote, not overly sweet, but also not like fresh from the tree) and the sweet note of freshly picked plums take a back seat. I can confirm the rose note that Nale detected; I do not perceive orange blossom, nor heliotrope. The woody notes provide a foundation for the whole composition, but remain in the background.
It sounds like harvest time in the orchard, so lazy, sun-drenched late summer, but it smells more like spring. Bright, sun-warm, and tender, yet airy-fresh.
The question of animalistic or sweet is ultimately decided by the distance to the nose: When I smell it directly from the sprayed skin, it becomes more animalistic (I think of a hint of restroom in the outdoor pool), but when the scent wafts from further away, it is only sweet! Nevertheless, it's not a little girl’s scent; I think it’s the apricot that makes it feel "riper," more mature, and very feminine. And yet it is cheerful, uncomplicated, and unobtrusive, but with a recognizable character.
The scent has a moderate sillage and should not offend anyone, making it suitable as an everyday fragrance. I wouldn't want to call it a "office scent," as I find it almost too relaxed and informal for that, but sometimes that fits too. However, I associate it more with weekends, leisure, and vacation.
