The next sandalwood scent...
Santal Blanc, Santal de Kandy, Santalum Eau de Parfum, Le Santal, Generation(s), all have more or less the same drydown - sandalwood.
The fragrance starts with a fresh green pear that quickly becomes slightly dusty due to the pepper and, within the next 5 minutes, clearly transitions into a green fig. Even after 15 minutes of spraying, the main note of the fragrance, sandalwood, makes its appearance. It begins green from the fig and then ends up a bit dusty on the skin.
For me, this is quite a flat scent, remaining one-dimensional and simple without any development, and ends rather unspectacularly, woody. More of a skin scent. It doesn’t project, staying close to the skin. There’s no cloud forming like with Santal Blanc or Gris Charnel Eau de Parfum. Le Santal is perceived more, as well as Santalum Eau de Parfum.
But do we really need another fig-sandalwood scent? I love the combo, but not at this price. Is this the better sandalwood scent?! Hm - not for the price. It’s not bad, but how many do we need with the same drydown? Does it stand out more than the others? I doubt it.
I’m sorry, but it doesn’t shine for me.

Fresh, soft summer fig
In the store, even on paper, I immediately had the association with le Santal by Louboutin and yes, after testing the Generation(s) on my skin I have to say:

Le Santal in much softer with less sillage, less sweet, a little fresher for the summer.
Especially in drydown, the fragrances are getting closer and closer.
If you find Le Santal too dominant and Gris Charnel (I don't think they smell similar!) too melancholic and clawing, you could try Generations.

So and now to the fragrance itself:

The start is characterized by a not too ripe pear, with a little pepper.
The spicy is so short that I wouldn't classify it as spicy.
The incense... yes... what incense? XD Well, somehow there isn't any.
Then comes the fig, which also lingers for a very long time.
Sandalwood clearly defines the drydown. I can definitely smell musk more clearly than tonka bean, which only sweetens a little.
A very pleasant fragrance that is suitable for everyday wear, sports and summer.
I would describe it as unisex, possibly a bit feminine.

For me it's definitely much better than Gris Charnel, but unfortunately it doesn't come close to le Santal and certainly not for this price. I somehow can't explain it.
If you really love figs, you could get both, one for summer and one for cooler days.

Fresh-sweet fig-tonka open, built on sandalwood & musk. I get Gris Charnel EDP in the open, but it ends more woody-aromatic like Philosykos.

Charming and creamy fig-sandalwood composition, bright unripe pear highlighted in vibrant green. Alcohol-free is always genius!

A woody, less zesty Balade Sauvage with its own twist. Sans alcohol is definitely a must-have in the portfolio right now.

Fresh pear in the opening and pleasant fig in the dry-down. I think Ex Nihilo wanted to create a scent for all age groups here.

Pretty, already familiar fig-sandalwood composition with synthetic pear. Well-mannered sillage, alcohol-free - perfect for summer.

Where dew-fresh nashis shine
and creamy woods drift in milky rivers,
there the delicate fig heart laughs
