Experience in Berlin
At the Parfumo meeting we visit the 'Berlin paradise of the smells'.
We were immediately welcomed very friendly by Mario Worms who wanted to help us to fulfilling our smell wishes immediately.

We admired many known brands in the gigantic glass of Shelf.
I tested a smell of Au Pays de la Fleur d'Oranger and immediately i fell in love. Thanks Maris for the tip.

Bergamote Boisée reminds me of a hot day of holiday, coming from the sea/beach and running through a cedar grove to the beach sheet.
The smell shall arouse the memory of the Provence; I wasn't now there yet.
Easy sweet - a blot of honey develop besides the immediate citrus wood note.
This is already almost the complete smell course and beguiles me. It doesn't always have to be a gigantic pyramid.
It doesn't become a cuddling smell, at the end he is dry.
Wonderful!

BB is part of the masculine smells of the brand besides Figue Fruitée. 'Les Inédits' (The unpublished) were created by the Grasser Parfumeur Jean Claude Gigodot.
BB stays on my skin up to the morning hours, the Sillage, however, isn't obtrusive. I have found a smell which resembles no-one in my collection yet.

The bottle is a white Eyecatcher. The lid with very much wood optics lie in the hand well.

Whenever I spray on the smell, I am reminded of the wonderful special time in Berlin with Turandot and Maris.
And I am happy.

Today I am a Dressed-Up Cook
Every generation grows up with certain scents and develops specific associations with them. Just as our language patterns and dialects are shaped by our origins and age, our scent associations are also influenced by certain impressions. Does clove oil make us think of the dentist? Lilac of air freshener? AXE clouds of hordes of pubescent teenagers? Lemon scent of cleaning products? If it were customary to spray tuberose in toilets, surely lilac would have a better reputation. Bergamot has not escaped these fashion fluctuations either, as Dr. Hermann Klencke noted in "Dietetic Cosmetics or Health and Beauty Care of the Outer Appearance of Man":

"Especially avoid a refined person in luxurious attire smelling of cheap bergamot oil, for this, as pleasant as it may smell in itself, has become the perfume of the lower classes, particularly of maids, and a lady without a sense of smell could easily be mistaken for a dressed-up cook." (A heartfelt thanks to PontNeuf, who made excerpts from the book readable for us on their blog.)

Today we associate bergamot not with maids, but with Earl Grey, and that was exactly my first thought after I had "Bergamote Boisée" on my arm. To my nose, bergamot is distinctly different from other citrus fruits; it appears green-golden shimmering and transparent, with a slightly peppery note, capable of adding a touch of lightness to any perfume. Am I really sensing slightly smoky teenage notes here, or is my mind adding them out of habit? I also sense a floral note that I would categorize as false acacia, but that may be a trick of the honey that soon reveals itself. Yet it holds back and only slightly softens the bitterness introduced by the oak moss in the background. The scent rests on a base of light cedar, and the overall impression is refreshing, dry, yet still possesses a certain depth. Occasionally, I detect a note reminiscent of aftershave, which I could do without, and that slightly clouds the fragrance for me.

"Bergamote Boisée" is a simple scent that does not undergo significant development. The bergamot pulls back a bit but never completely leaves us; the tea accord, of which I am now sure, comes forward more strongly, and occasionally I interestingly believe I catch a whiff of bitter chocolate. With its dry freshness, this scent seems made for summer weather, yet thanks to the teenage notes, I can surprisingly imagine it well in the cold season too. If the resemblance to aftershave did not sometimes seem a bit too close, I would like this scent even more, but even so, "Bergamote Boisée" receives a solid "good" from me. For in one thing, our writer was right: bergamot spreads a pleasant scent, period. And now excuse me, I need to find my apron.

My goodness, don't shout like that!
Right from the first spray on my forearm, this fragrance shouts at me!

Loud and noisy, the labdanum and cedar fight with the honey for dominance, leaving neither the flowers nor the fruits a chance to speak. The oak moss, which I actually hold in high regard, would have liked to say something too, but our bickering hearts drown everything out. Only after hours do they start to distance themselves, still debating, with the screeching honey lingering the longest. And when they finally get far enough away and are only perceptible as murmurs, I think: What a heavenly peace, why not like this from the start?!

I really don’t like being shouted at.

Herb, heavy patchouli scent. Leans masculine. Feels a bit old-fashioned.
