Holy Violet?? Now they're really copying Robin…! :D
Okay, my title might only resonate with those who remember the Batman series from the 60s with Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin. Because Robin was a character in this series who delivered a line with “Holy/Holy/Heavenly…” as an expression of his astonishment or even horror in almost every episode, always providing a humorous comic relief.
These weren’t well-known phrases like “Holy cannon barrel or Holy straw sack” (though those did come up), but rather lines tailored to specific scenes. There were absurd phrases like “Holy macaroni,” “Holy rocking chair,” “Holy popcorn,” “Holy showcase,” or even… here it comes… “Holy bikini!” As a child, I never noticed this, but as you get older, you realize that this series was more self-ironic and even voluntarily funny, rather than being a serious Batman series.
Hmm… it’s always surprising what reasons I can find to talk about the caped crusader again, even though I’ve only seen the name of the fragrance. Holy Violet,… but how does one even come up with such a name? At least in ancient times, violets were dedicated to some Roman and Greek gods, so celebrants wore flower crowns made of violets on their heads, and the plant was considered the flower of love. Hmm… maybe I should have mentioned that first before boring everyone with Batman again *sigh*
From the heart notes, I can only slightly perceive the orange blossoms and the sweetness of jasmine, where I think it’s hard to really distinguish the sweetness between jasmine and violet, as it just smells beautifully sweet like flowers in general. After that, the roses start to scent and seem to become more intense over time, only to fade back into the background in the base.
Yes, so in the base, or simply later on, I can still smell violets, as the fragrance continues to come across as lightly powdery-scented flowers that smell sweet. The rose gradually disappears into the background, while woody notes now come into play, which often form the foundation of the base. By the way, you can smell the cedarwood better than the sandalwood here. I don’t detect vetiver at all, but there’s lovely musk, which pairs nicely with the violets.
I found the longevity to be good, meaning you can easily smell the fragrance for eight hours, maybe even more.
Oh yes, I really liked this fragrance. It has great floral notes that smell absolutely wonderful even to me (who usually finds floral scents quite stuffy). The powdery notes make the fragrance soft, the sweet scents are pleasant in the nose, and despite the sweet and powdery notes, the fragrance doesn’t feel particularly heavy, making it suitable for summer wear.
Due to the good sillage and the wonderful scent, it’s not only suitable as a daytime fragrance but also wonderful for going out and celebrating. Therefore, it’s worth a look, even if similar-scented fragrances can probably be found in other scents that you might come across more easily or that you might see sitting on a shelf somewhere in a store.
Well,… holy violets… I really should order this old Batman series completely on DVD or something, now I really feel like it… especially since I recently got a small model of the iconic Batmobile from the 60s, yay it looks so cool… really!!... but as always, you can’t understand my enthusiasm for it… oh, you have no idea about such things! … *sigh* :DD

The Fragrance:
The fragrance starts with violets, which not only smell lovely and sweet like beautiful flowers but also have a nice powdery quality (of course not as powdery as iris or vanilla, but still, there’s a lovely soft note). A hint of bergamot is briefly detectable at the beginning, seemingly appearing and then disappearing again immediately. Besides the violets, I also smell other floral scents that are pleasant and light. And in the background, I catch a whiff of green notes for a short while.

The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite okay; you can smell the fragrance from a few meters away from a person for a while. I found the longevity to be good, meaning you can easily smell the fragrance for eight hours, maybe even more.
The Bottle:
The slightly bulging bottle is rectangular, glossy white, and looks very high-quality. On the front, the name and logo are displayed in gold. The round neck, also gilded, holds the rectangular cap made of light wood. A beautiful bottle. Oh yes, I really liked this fragrance.
