Pretty Out There
... at least that applies to the bottle, which is roughly modeled after a DNA helix structure. DNA here naturally stands for deoxyribonucleic acid, and is simply put a biomolecule that carries genetic information or genes.
Since I am the worst chemist in the world, it makes no sense to elaborate on the topic in detail at this point. Some perfume enthusiasts can certainly do that much better.
I can dive deeper into the subject not only regarding the content but also about the brand Bijan, named after the Iranian designer Bijan Pakzad (1944-2011), who established himself in Beverly Hills and designed not only fashion but also accessories, jewelry, watches, perfumes, and even cars. The latter, for example, were more or less "refined" with design elements from brands like Rolls-Royce or Bugatti.
Perfume lovers probably know his work better from the ring- or pacifier-shaped bottles of the Bijan Men or Woman series, for which he was also awarded by the Fragrance Foundation in 1987.
Bijan's DNA series may not be as well-known, but the fragrance certainly has its justification. Unfortunately, due to the age of my mini, the top note has been somewhat affected. However, the heart note is convincing, especially with fresh, as well as delicate floral and spicy notes. Lavender comes through here clean and fine. Even oakmoss makes an appearance. Possibly here in real form and in careful combination with tonka bean and minimal extracts of jasmine in a masculine-sensual way. Pessimists might notice a slight aftershave note, which I believe is absolutely fitting.
In this form, it lasts relatively long, although there are no noticeable surprises in the dry down. So it’s more of a linear scent rather than a twisted or convoluted one.
Oriental-spicy-fresh would be a compact description.
While it doesn't quite reach the genius of Giorgio for Men V.I.P. Special Reserve by Giorgio Beverly Hills, I wouldn’t be surprised, due to the olfactory and regional proximity (the stores are located on the famous Rodeo Drive), if both fragrances at least share their genes from the same unknown perfumer, because you can't deny its DNA.
PS: I kept wondering what DNA reminded me of until it just came to me. It not only smells similar to Gucci Nobile but also shares a striking number of ingredients.
