An undersea garden

I got a sample of Anemone from my Olfactif subscription a few years ago and it took a while to form an impression. Salty and sweet, like salt water taffy and red fruits, the ocean is nearby but the saltiness forms a resinous impression over top of the berries, which are ripe and jammy. Medium sillage on me and still noticeable after 4h, after which it becomes a skin scent. I did eventually get a small bottle, because I couldn't stop thinking about it.

A very peculiar fragrance for me

When I applied my manufacturer's sample of Anemone, I was rather underwhelmed. Somehow this signature is not really my cup of tea. The longevity on my skin is strong with more than 12 hours and the sillage is also convincing so far.

The top note starts sweet and fruity with aromas of grape sugar, raisins, prunes, raisins and a hint of champagne. The heart note is floral, sweet and spicy with hints of blossom honey, tobacco, labdanum, ribwort syrup, lotus blossom and frangipani. The base smells resinous-woody, spicy and somewhat balsamic with nuances of styrax, amber, benzoin and vanilla.

Even if the fragrance DNA of Anemone doesn't really appeal to me, there could still be one or two fans here.
