No Babylonian Linguistic Confusion

I am currently testing the exclusive fragrances from the company FiiLit - on one hand because they are special, on the other hand because they have committed themselves to ecological sustainability.
I gladly support this philosophy.

Well, the fragrances clearly lean towards the niche direction - but they remain approachable and grounded.

Thus, Babylonia does not greet me with a babylonian linguistic confusion - rather, it speaks clearly and understandably to me.

The pepper offers a lively but non-scratchy start - which is softened by resinous notes and incense.
The scent becomes increasingly calm and gains freshness from the mint.
Sandalwood smooths it out creamily and the oud has a slightly sweet quality.
Nutmeg floats piquantly above.

Not an everyday scent - but also not a brain teaser.

I would love to perceive it more often on gentlemen or ladies.

The Jazzing Gatekeeper

The French perfume label FiiLit, with its exemplary ethical-olfactory commitment and concept, has already been extensively introduced in my comment on "Saudade."

Mušhuššu - Babylonia is the latest creation from the French and refers to the mythology of the snake dragon that guards the eastern paradise of Babylon, including its hanging gardens. Some may know it from the depiction on the Ištar Gate in the Berlin Pergamon Museum. Additionally, it served as the inspiration for the bumbling dragon Mushu from the Disney animated film Mulan.

As an Eau de Parfum, the snake dragon comes across as very bright and woody with a decent pinch of pepper. This feels both fresh and quite dry, and in this phase, it mainly reminds me of the spiciness of nutmeg, akin to the original version of Jazz by Yves Saint Laurent.

Elemi resin and frankincense are relatively sparingly added, so our Babylonian hybrid appears more herbaceous, woody-spicy than actually resinous. Even the oud is extremely hard to perceive. Instead, mint noticeably weaves through the fragrance, giving it a light-fresh ethereal vibe.

At what we might call the tip of the tail of the fragrance, Mušhuššu becomes almost tamed, mild, and balanced, providing a calm conclusion. Even in this phase, the dragon fades out more woodily.

Overall, FiiLit once again conveys an unusual yet absolutely pleasant and familiar scent with Mušhuššu. In this context, I see a strong resemblance to Yves Saint Laurent's Jazz, which for me personally showed its strongest moments in the evening or even in wellness areas with a feel-good character.

I find the version as a traveler spray with a matching wooden color to be practical. It not only looks chic but is also refillable. What more could one want?
