Bogue / Lita
Antonio Gordoni made them to order in connection with a new music project of a British couple-DUO (Luke Pritchard of The Kooks and his wife Ellie Rose).
So we have a music-scent project. Muse not mine, smell very much like that.
The perfume is from 2020. and they are a bit different from Antonio's previous works due to their smokeiness, among other things.
This combination of his favorite floral notes, including exotic flowers with patchouli, tobacco, resins, and adding smoke to them that lifts these fragrances up, makes me feel HYPNOTIC. Hence my graphics. These perfumes mean that I really quite often like to put my hand sprinkled with it to my nose and ... move my thoughts away from 'here and now' - this smoke does its job (which is probably why I liked it so much), and I succumb to it strangely.
Contrary to some observations - the fragrance does not remind me of the famous T-Rex, unless in the context of a similarly perceptible combination of exotic floral notes (which Antonio Gordoni particularly likes). These perfumes are not flashy or heavy, and in my opinion they can be used all year round. From the similar perfumes I have known as a whole, I could point out Prissana-Mohragot.
Durability and projection at least good. Durability about 8 hours.

Here’s the Deal
Okay, this is what happened. Bogue and Slumberhouse got together and had a baby. One whiff and Lita filled my nostrils with smoky delight and left me moaning. I put it on my wrists from which it is assaulting my nose with pleasure. I expect it to still be doing that in the morning.

So what if it’s a little ashy? Splendors like this are allowed to burn.

Smoldering Firewood and Vanilla...
LiTA opens with an almost almond-like slightly sweet creamy vanilla and sandalwood derived accord with a faint, very brief hint of underlying slightly sharp bergamot citrus before transitioning to its heart. As the composition enters its early heart, the vanilla remains and takes the fore, coupling with some relatively strong burning wood-like incense rising from the base as earthy patchouli adds support to the "burning woody vanilla." During the late dry-down the burning wood gradually vacates, as the slightly benzoin sweetened vanilla still hangs on through the lengthy finish, now supported by just slightly sharp woody vetiver. Projection is good and longevity outstanding at well over 20 hours on skin.

The bottle of LiTA I have to admit for whatever reason drove me to want to sample the perfume on sight, and knowing the perfumer was Antonio Gardoni who has many successful compositions under his belt didn't hurt its cause either. So, does LiTA live up to its rather cool looking bottle? The answer is for the *most* part, "yes." If I had a short descriptor to give a quick blurb about what the perfume smells like at its core, it would have to be "Burning Firewood and Vanilla." In order to enjoy this perfume you *must* be OK with, or preferably enjoy the smell of burning wood (something I confess to not being much of a fan of personally). The late dry-down finally gets rid of that burning wood aspect, leaving the high quality vanilla used to shine, and it does. There are tons of published notes to the perfume outside of vanilla, but alas the burning woods (derived from incense in the base) obscure a lot of them for most of the perfume's development. The bottom line is the $225 per 50ml bottle LiTA is a pretty decent "good" to "very good" 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5 rated effort by Gardoni that will appeal to a small segment of perfume lovers, but the burning woods that dominate through the key heart development phase are a bit too much of a distraction for this writer, earning LiTA only a very tepid recommendation, unless one loves the smell of burning firewood.

Hypnotic Darkness and Olfactory Mastery
Lita is one of my absolute favorite fragrances, the extraordinary result of the nose Antonio Gardoni, one of my favorite perfumers. This work has created a dark, smoky, and intensely powerful scent that perfectly embodies the best of both creators.

The opening is bold and enveloping, with a woody, resinous heart that evokes the smell of a burning fire on a mysterious night. As it evolves, leather, spices, and earthy nuances emerge, adding depth and richness to a composition that is both robust and incredibly refined.

The longevity is exceptional, and the sillage leaves a lasting impression. Lita makes me feel powerful and connected to something primal—a true masterpiece for those who love smoky, rich, and charismatic fragrances.

An ode to the art of two extraordinary perfumers, it’s a must-try for fans of bold and profound scents.

Smoky Flower Pad Thai
From the Unterwarmgauer Anzeiger dated March 15, 2021

On Sunday evening, the Thai snack bar owned by Mrs. Priya Niedernhuber, née Gansl, burned down around 7 PM for reasons still unclear. The neighboring flower shop owned by Mrs. Rita Simmerl was also affected. No one was injured. The fire department arrived on the scene just 15 minutes after the alarm was raised and quickly brought the fire under control. Regarding the cause of the fire, Fire Chief Flötzinger stated that the fire likely originated in the kitchen storage area and then rapidly spread to the adjacent flower shop. This aligns with witness statements reporting a slightly fruity smell of smoke that soon took on a distinctly floral character. Since the building was made of wood, the flames found ample fuel in a short time. Additionally, the storage of dry spices like coriander and lovage, as well as larger quantities of ammonium pastilles that exploded due to the heat, contributed to the fire's rapid spread.
Since Monday is always Pad Thai day with beef at Mrs. Niedernhuber's, a whole half of beef also fell victim to the flames. However, the fire department was able to salvage the beef half. According to Fire Chief Flötzinger, the charred skin could be cleaned with sufficient water, allowing the remainder to be consumed after the cleanup. It tasted very good, the attendees agreed. Fire Chief Flötzinger named a technical defect as the most likely cause of the fire. Arson could not be ruled out at this point.
Regarding a potentially xenophobic motive for possible arson, the responsible police officer Eberdorfner said: “What nonsense, the three Nazis we have are way too stupid for that! Besides, by that time they’re already so drunk that they couldn’t handle a lighter! So let me have my peace with this nonsense!” *
The property damage is considerable. The local craftsmen's round table has already agreed to help with the rebuilding.

---------

LiTA is quite something: it starts off relatively harmless, spicy with a hint of fruit and even a subtle freshness, but soon flowers and a very animalistic leather take over. The scent also becomes increasingly smoky, though more of a cold, damp smoke. The fire is already out; it’s just smoldering a bit. Spices have been present from the beginning, especially coriander. The whole thing reminds me of ammonium pastilles. As it progresses, the floral notes increase, but it remains very spicy and smoky. Often, I can’t distinguish the various flowers, but it’s not sweet-floral; rather, it’s dark and slightly musty. The water used to extinguish the fire is probably to blame. After about 2 hours, the smoke intensifies again, and I perceive something sharp, like a freshly struck match, slightly sulfurous. Then myrrh comes in, adding a hint of sweetness, but only minimal. At this point, I also notice a bit of Maggi, but more in the background. At the very end (around 6 to 7 hours later), the scent even becomes almost gentle. Benzoin with just a touch of tonka and vanilla provides a balsamic-soft note. The spicy notes, however, remain ever-present.
The longevity is considerable; 9-10 hours are no problem. The sillage has at least in the first two hours potential for disturbance.
LiTA is a scent that shouldn’t appeal to me: too many flowers, way too much animalism, too much (dark) smoke - and yet I find it great! It’s a scent that you can’t just wear; you have to engage with it; it keeps pushing itself into your consciousness. You certainly can’t ignore it…
Unfortunately, that’s also the reason why I would never wear it; it is an experience, though.

Thanks to Seejungfrau for this dip-dop scent!

* For our northern German friends (because Officer Eberdorfner doesn’t speak High German): “That is a baseless claim, which I must firmly contradict based on my knowledge of the local neo-Nazi scene, as the three individuals in question would not be intellectually capable of such an act. At this late hour, due to the elevated alcohol levels of the gentlemen, it is anyway not to be assumed that they could handle the necessary tools for the act. I am always available for further questions.”

Initially rubbery and smoky spicy-green, this thick and meaty, smoky earthy-floral fragrance, settles to a more gentle, spicy-woody base.

While ylang, champaca, and woods create a warm home with tobacco, sour notes roar with envy.

Hot asphalt on summer's glowing paths. Flowers united in the heat's death. Tobacco spice, rust-red glow. Sweetness smolders lazily. Where is the night?
