Another Lance ;-)

I have had Borsalino for some time now, and every time I use it in my daily life, I feel completely comfortable and perfectly scented. When I read the comments here, I believe it develops very differently for each person. I smell neither vanilla nor is it creamy, it is neither sweet, which I do not like, nor too floral, but for my taste a bit woody, and any kind of wood makes a fragrance feel noble to me.
Typical Italian - a bit bitter, long-lasting, and with a distinctive character - I do not perceive this scent as just another generic fragrance.

I am sure that Borsalino pour Elle will be one of those that will always be in my cabinet, even if I should reduce my collection at some point. And actually, I am glad that not many people have discovered it yet, because with such a low price, the risk of mass fragrance saturation is high.

What a pity,

that this fragrance is not well-received here. I must defend it a bit :-).

To my nose, it is not appealing at all. It is soft, powdery-floral, yes... but it also has bitter notes, which I used to attribute to carrot seeds, but maybe it’s the iris. Or perhaps ambrette seeds? I have no idea how they smell.
This bitter note creates the rrrr-effect for me with this fragrance. Amber and musk capture the bitterness well, so that everything together becomes really pleasant, almost delicious. A little corner, then, but with a cuddly factor. What can be said against that? For my part, I love to cuddle... even with Borsalino ;-).

The longevity is excellent, especially in clothing, where you can perceive it for a long time. Sillage is just right for me - not too much, but also not too little. A delicately scented aura indeed. A nice office fragrance that some colleagues have already commented on positively.

Is there really no vanilla in it??

He goes from one thing to another

How I have despised this saying.
A teacher used it frequently during my long-ago school days. After that, I didn’t hear anyone say anything like it again and I didn’t miss it either.
And yet, it was the first thing that came to mind when I smelled Borsalino pour Elle.
Not because the scent reminds me in the slightest of the teacher or that I wouldn’t like it.
It’s simply that I perceive BpE as one of the woodiest women’s fragrances I know, and this old saying fits it like, well, a glove.

As a person with a close connection to carpentry, I am familiar with various wood scents. The tannic smell of oak. The resinous scent of spruce or pine. The sour smell of fir wood. The well-known dry scent of cedar from pencil tips. The mild-aromatic scent of precious woods like rosewood or sandalwood. Freshly cut wood, dried wood, sun-warmed wood, damp wood - everything has its own special scent.

And Borsalino pour Elle is woody from start to finish.
The dry cedar, combined with the bitter-sparkling bergamot and balsamic-sweet carrot seeds, creates a slight hairspray association, while iris adds a dose of powder.
Jasmine only acts in the background; BpE never becomes floral for me.

I find the scent very pleasing, charming, quite self-assured, and subtly brittle - just like the archetype of the simultaneously feminine yet assertively temperamental Italian woman.
It is suitable for year-round and versatile use and lasts long. Sprayed on in the morning, it still lingers as a fine woody whisper after a long day.
Moreover, it layers well with vanilla and delicate floral scents.
Not least due to the distant similarity to Dia Woman that I perceive and the sensational price-performance ratio, I can warmly recommend Borsalino pour Elle.

Pleasant Fragrance

There is actually little to say here.

A floral-powdery scent, like many others. Although I am a fan of iris and can smell it here, Pour Elle belongs to the category of everyday fragrances that smell good but are not a must-have. I think I can detect a slightly bitter undertone that personally does not appeal to me.

Nothing New for the Nose

I can only echo my predecessors: A pleasant, run-of-the-mill fragrance. After a (what I think is) spectacular citrus-spicy opening, it continues with a floral-vanilla mix that you’ve smelled a thousand times before, or something very similar. It’s really not a must-have.
