extremely natural lavender-clove-fir old school that doesn't want to be nice
SUMMARY
Very unique & peculiar like Landscape Scents - Bosc. Lavender with clove and fir. VERY natural in appearance. Old school. Also decidedly not "nice/friendly" in its aura. Even less accessible than Landscape Scents - Bosc.
LONG BLAHBLAH
Avet continues the Bravanariz philosophy: extremely uncompromisingly natural, decidedly dark to unfriendly. Where Landscape Scents - Bosc at least becomes somewhat more accessible with its drydown and the sauna vibes bring a certain warmth, Avet remains consistently awkward for me.
The combination of lavender + clove + fir sounds on paper like something that could work. Lavender in Fougères is well-established, fir is known from Ormonde Man Eau de Parfum or Percival, clove can provide beautiful warmth. However, here the combination results in something that feels too old school for me.
The extreme naturalness is again impressive, like with Bosc. You can literally smell that real, nature-close raw materials were used here. Just that "natural" does not automatically mean "beautiful" or "pleasant". Nature also includes moldy leaves, prickly needles, etc. - Avet represents for me rather this side of nature ;)
The lavender is "rustic-naturalistic". No barbershop, no gentleman, no modern anything. Just lavender, clove, and fir, as nature provides, without refinement, without compromises, without regard for likability. This at least brings a certain honesty.
Longevity is OK. You can perceive something for a very long time.
Sillage is subtle, appropriate, noticeable, not a monster.
I cannot assess the bottle/sprayer, as only a sample/refill is available. The images of bottles can be misleading in both directions!
Price is "OK" to good for today, especially for such a small, independent brand.
CONCLUSION
VERY unique, extremely natural lavender-clove-fir old school that is even less accessible than Bosc from the same house. Impressive naturalness, but consciously appears unfriendly and awkward. Bravanariz creates uncompromising natural scents for people who like to experience nature unvarnished (in scent). Apparently, I do not belong here, at least not on my skin.
