Pour Un Homme Séduisant....

This is the Pour un Homme we know and love with the edge taken off - a suitable "night time" version.

The signature lavender in the opening has traded a tiny bit of its brightness for a smoother, sexier profile. A touch of bergamot mellows and tempers the lavender, which lasts quite a bit longer in the parfum than it does in the eau de toilette. In the drydown, the woodiness is more subdued than the original while a smooth, sexy amber sneaks up on you. The base is a warm ambered vanilla musk bomb with touches of wood and spice. The base is the biggest difference. The quality is superb here, both in craftsmanship and in materials, and the whole thing comes off a bit more like Jicky than the original - and that's a good thing.

Impact manages to present the fragrance from terrific new angles while still remaining ridiculously faithful to the original.

Pour un Homme is one of my very most cherished fragrances, and I'm absolutely in love with this version. I can say with confidence that this is an improvement on the original - something I've never said about any flanker of any kind before.

An intense lavender fragrance

If you're really into lavender, you should go for Pour Un Homme de Caron (2005) Parfum. In the end, it was too intense for me and somehow I find this fragrance DNA more unisex than masculine. The longevity on my skin is 9 to 10 hours with a solid sillage.

The top note starts very floral, greenish, fresh and delicately sweet with a strong lavender aroma. This persists in the heart note and is underlined by a certain powderiness. The base remains floral-sweet and is underpinned by spicy, balsamic and woody aromas, which are created by bourbon vanilla and amber
Unfortunately, this lavendery fougère was too strong for me, but from a neutral point of view, Pour Un Homme de Caron (2005) Parfum is certainly a well-made fragrance. Once again, I would like to thank Nick for the many bottlings.

...the warming older brother or the...

It's really difficult. Do you need both? Is the first one enough? Did it help that you dared to do something so great about 1934?
Everyone needs to know that for themselves.
If I were to describe it with just one sentence:
If you compare Caron with Caron l impact, you look at your old brother through a milky glass, whereas l impact sits behind a crystal-clear, cleaned pane.

But here's a little more detail.

I find the old man softer, more buff, cloudy and vanilla. It nestles better to my skin, or fits better.
L impact is crystal clear, more herbaceous, sharper, more direct, less vanilla, more lavender. The latter almost causes something absinthe-like which for me in the first minutes even goes in a slightly cool-minute direction. In the process it is even for a short time very lightly earthy even a bit hayy.
Very nice, actually. Qualitatively, of course, l impact is far ahead.

I don't need either of them, and even the fact that the scaffolding was already in place and the PARFUMEUR didn't create anything new here, I remain faithful to the old, the unique, the 1934, the warming brother:-).

I want to be mean to you and use the word Flanker:-), but yes he is just a little bit. Sometimes a Flanker can be the better one BUT the first idea doesn't come from the Flanker and I like the monogamy.:-).

Fragrance goes to Caron from 1934, durability, sillage and bottle to the new ones.

1:3 the final result. But this is the only match in the world where the one with the small number wins:-).
