Attempt at Interpretation
After the first application on the skin, a warm, soft, ripe, resinous-citrus note. Spontaneously, descriptions come to mind like: A hint of Earl Grey, a hint of honey. Later, tobacco notes join in.
I believe this EdP must be gradually absorbed by the wearer. The nose needs to relearn how to capture this
type of fragrance composition. Throughout the entire scent development, there is a light, vibrating
acidic note that connects all the individual notes one after another.
As with other CF EdPs (especially Vetiver Special Reserve), the right dosage is crucial here.
First, just two sprays above the navel and one on the neck. This fragrance is worn for personal
well-being and not for external effect. Hence, "Gentlemen's Cologne".
It stands on its own and does not seek the applause of those blinded by superficiality.

Dundee Cake?
This perfume doesn't have a special name. It's simply called Gentleman’s Cologne. One might expect a distinctly simple scent. But not too simple.

The listed notes "oak moss, fern, woods, lavender, lemon" are understandable. The lemon is quite strong and sits on wood. Moss and fern are also present. I still can't detect lavender; I believe I'm blind to this scent. However, this cologne is not as fresh as the ingredient list initially suggests. There is something that stands out, something spicy-gourmand. Strangely enough, the moment I sprayed it, English fruitcake or its Scottish counterpart "Dundee Cake" came to mind. Even plum pudding is not far off. Because there is something doughy, raisin-like behind the lemon. Is there perhaps a hint of cinnamon?

Be that as it may, there is still a little secret here. The scent is not as opulent as 1445. The lemon comes across as rounder and yellower, not as bright green and fleeting as in Keig. And it is also significantly less Barber Shop style than 1445 and Lonach. Those who find 1445 and Lonach too overpowering might get along better with this. I think this Gentleman’s Cologne is well made, but certainly not a must-have.

Reminds me a lot of chamomile tea, not as "colognish" as expected. Gentle aura, a light shimmer over the summer field.

Unremarkable yet uniquely classic - lemon/lavender with honey/woody finish - subtle performance with long-lasting wear.

Extraordinary fougère that truly suggests damp ferns, pine needles and resin, robust forest honey; abstracted by herbal inhalation.

Citrus notes float over raisins and spiced tobacco. Tamed with British understatement, green and wonderfully composed. Gentlemanly.

Golden yellow, ripe bergamot, anointed with honey, meets magnificent, wood-laden lavender.

Citrusy, green. It's okay, but nothing special. H/S not so good.

For me, it's neither cologney nor gentlemanly, it's also too bulky and unappealing. Remarkable longevity for a cologne.

Orange-cinnamon-dry-woody + honey. Reminds me of "Homme Ligne St Barth" but greener and more complex. Incredibly pleasant and natural.

Very natural scent, but with a consistently bitter undertone. Not bad, but definitely test it first.
Longevity is great.
