he who has, has!

"Charivari": no shooting festival, no merrymaking in the Alps, where not one of these chains, studded with many, more or less valuable pendants, adorns the wearer. Usually it rests on an impressive "embonpoint": the plumper the ball, the more outstanding the belly jewelry!
By this you can recognize the notables, apart from the chamois beard on the hat, which also emphasizes the social position in the region!

"Charivari" Eau de Toilette is also a piece of jewelry; but more about that later.
How impressed I was early teenagers just by the brand name: Charles of the Ritz!
Wow! That sounded like a luxury hotel and the only luxury hotel I knew from the movie "People in the Hotel". The 1959 film was still broadcast regularly (once a year?) on TV at the time.
And this adaptation of the novel by Vicky Baum (who herself lived in a hotel in the USA for a long time) is, in my opinion, the best there is!
Alone already O.W. Fischer as a charming hotel thief: there knocked the young girl heart!
Are there these charismatic good-for-nothings actually still, whose mission in life seemed to be to entertain and please women?
Or is today's world predominantly populated by "the true disco stud" who can't bask enough in the compliments he receives because the scent he wears "performs so mega awesome"?
Would it be like, "Oh, we poor, poor girls ..."!
Fortunately, I was still allowed to get to know some of these "charmers": their attention just did women good; you just had to not take them too seriously!

Well, Charles of the Ritz has created even with the Eau de Toilette of "Charivari" a lavish, adapted to its time and well wearable piece of jewelry.
Each individual fragrance note was carefully selected and skillfully placed in the right place for them in this composition.
Already the fruity, fresh entrée shines through the all-dominant power of aldehydes.
Thus, an actually simple fruit cocktail becomes a fragrance prelude that makes curious about what is to come.
Now also "Charivari" can not hide its chypre relationship; as a matter of course, iris, jasmine and rose were arranged into an opulent bouquet, in which also the cheerful lily of the valley and the now mostly forgotten garden carnation may not be missing.
As a special highlight, a well-dosed portion of golden honey appears, which covers everything with a fine skin without being sticky. This fine honey layer also very quickly takes over the flavors of the embraced flowers and fruits. The result is fine!
And of course, the classic base can not be missing; unthinkable would have been at the wedding of this fragrance. One remained true to the given direction, although a small detour here and there could easily provide additional sophistication.
So meet spicy benzoin resin with a little prickly sandal and silky cedar woods on a pleasantly earthy moss cushion.
But the fragrant conclusion is still missing: warm, sensual musk and luminous amber notes form a delicate web, which was looped with a light hand over all the precious fragrance building blocks of this arrangement.

"Charivari" spreads, even as an eau de toilette, its fragrance jewelry richly on my skin!
Floral-green and yet lively-elegant appears for a few hours a real fragrance companion of the late seventies.

Amazing how this fragrance survived over the years seemingly unchanged in the closet of the deceased neighbor. Because "Charivari" is also one of the fragrances that I saved at the time from the dumpster.
I am delighted by this fragrance remnant and I will be happy to decorate myself with him.

Oh, by the way: to wear "Charivari" by Charles of the Ritz, you do not necessarily need a belly.
If, then that is also no misfortune; after all, it is said: "He who has, has!"
