Dunes bear flowers.
... on foggy, warm fall days! Sandalwood rises from the depths and envelops everything in resinous spice. If I didn't know better, because I've just applied a dab of it from the original mini, I'd go for Dune Eau de Toilette in the vintage edition. Delicate and subtle, yet easily perceptible for a long time. A fragrance love that has been with me for a long time. I have emptied 3 "Dune" bottles over the years. All with slight differences. Still great today. But I would prefer the "Madame Charrier" to this one.
Why is that? The question is quite justified... because the "Charrier" emphasizes that mysterious mood even more than its counterpart!
The genuine sandalwood really makes a difference. And the cleverly coordinated other fragrance notes make it almost mystical. That fine powderiness, approaching, then receding into the background again, that beautiful radiance of spicy roses, shaded by the coolness of "green" jasmine. And the earthiness of "mature" patchouli, which brings the sweetness of ylang ylang down to earth without dampening its fascination.
A fragrance that sends shivers down my spine... I wonder which fragrance came first... the one from Dior or the one from "Charriol"... A class of its own ;-))

Bitter fresh licorice shavings!
I don't have much experience with the "Mugler fragrances" yet. I had only tested "Angel"--"Alien" (much too sweet for me) and the original "Mugler-Cologne" (too thin). Now I have a descendant of it under my nose, which seems to be just...

From Yves Rocher's cool noble line - icy things from the South Pole!
With this "blue fragrance", I have brought a piece of old cold "aquatics" to my nose, which bears no resemblance to other "blues". Neither with Davidoff's "cool water" nor with "Invictus" & Co.
