The Storm or Only the Tough Get into the Garden
When we set out for our daily walk through the fields, the sun was still shining. In Normandy, the weather often changes very quickly. On the way back, a wall of clouds brewed in the distance, tinted in dark Payne's gray. It moved closer rapidly and loomed over the only tree for miles that could have offered some shelter from the rain. Then the wall of clouds covered the entire sky and a lightning bolt struck down. The rain was so heavy, it was as if someone had torn the clouds apart. Thunder rumbled and the downpour made the earth in the fields splash up. The earthy scent of the rich Norman soil mingled with that of the wildflowers by the roadside. Within minutes, I was completely soaked and water even stood in my rubber boots. We hurried home. When we arrived at the castle, the rain stopped. The clouds moved on, and the last raindrops, like spray, broke the light into a rainbow.
Summer Storm smells very strongly of earth when sprayed on. Whether wet or not. It’s as if a lightning bolt had struck directly into the ground. You have to process that at first; afterwards, the earthy scent softens and recedes into the background without disappearing. Various flowers emerge, accompanied by grass. I could have sworn it smelled like lavender as well. However, lavender is not listed. Even though Summer Storm becomes somewhat soapy in the base, I would never have thought of it as a men's salon shaving scent due to its earthy note.
Strangely enough, I like Summer Storm, and my family tester M likes it too. I am the only one who has worn it, a woman. I just wanted to point that out, as the official website advertises it as a "masculine fragrance for men." Only the tough get into the garden.
With Summer Storm, you smell as if you have just come from the garden where you planted flowers. Unfortunately, it’s not suitable for my workplace, but I can imagine that most people won’t have any issues with it, as most of you won’t get as close to anyone at work as I do, and the sillage isn’t strong. The official website promotes it as a scent for people who have to work at a desk, even if they would rather be outside. The scent is of course particularly suitable for gardeners and farmers. You can also use it as an excuse if you arrive late to a date: "I was still in the garden and didn’t have a watch." Otherwise, Summer Storm is not suitable for going out, as the scent would fade away due to the lack of sillage. There are landscape gardening competitions; that would be a sport where you could wear Summer Storm. You can of course wear it in summer and autumn. Maybe also in spring. In winter, people might wonder what you were doing in the garden in that weather. The longevity is about 5 hours, but with the moderate price, reapplying is not a problem.
