Mix between Vanille Havane and Tobacco Oud
This will be a short review. All you need to know is that this fragrance is a cross between Vanille Havane (Les Indémodables) and Tobacco Oud (Tom Ford).

You take Vanille Havane, remove the cocoa and rum, add some oud and that’s it ! A sugar-free Vanille Havane, darker thanks to the oud, and slightly smoky. A wonderful discovery, and knowing that the quality is there, it doesn't seem synthetic at all! Very natural.

To be reserved for a man wishing to assert himself, to show his presence, dressed in an all-black suit. Very elegant and classy, very masculine, very evocative.

The longevity is excellent, and the sillage very good!
As for the bottle, it's original.

And again it's time ...
The time when we bring back the strong and warming spice and leather scents from their "summer break" and thus move them to the forefront of regularly used flacons.
The selection in this genre is vast, but I am usually drawn first to Venice.
What treasures do the Mediterranean merchants of this city have stored in their warehouses?
“The Merchant of Venice” generously and fragrantly provides insights time and again.

Now, “Oudrageous” first stands out because of its extraordinary flacon; the “Fiamme” (“Flames”) series belongs to the beauties that were crafted with great artistic understanding and craftsmanship on the glassblowing island of Murano for this brand.

But the content is also not to be underestimated; provided you enjoy these dark, Oud-infused scent beings.
As the name “Oudrageous” suggests, one cannot avoid this always at least slightly dirty aroma, loved by many and feared by others.
Additionally, the perfumers take us into the storage houses of the old Venetian merchants. There, the spices and delicacies from all over the world were stored, which came across the Mediterranean during the heyday of “La Serenissima” and were distributed from there by caravans to all corners of the world.
So we still find clear traces of spice here from cardamom, coriander, and of course from frankincense: frankincense in the most diverse nuances, from light blonde to sacral-bright to the dark, mysterious depths!
Native resins were also stored here: Such as labdanum, the healing resin of the always somewhat crumpled-looking rockrose, and dried heliotrope flowers; a fine vanilla substitute aroma, should these noble pods ever be out of stock.
The sea is unpredictable, and so are the goods and spice deliveries:
The wise merchant was already preparing back then!
We also find sacks full of tamarind pods, a universally popular spice, and from the rafters hang large bundles of dried tobacco like sleeping bats!
This needs air to avoid mold, and therefore this magnificent and spicy scent being hovers above everything: This note is also present and wonderfully prominent in “Oudrageous.”
All of this rests on a good portion of oud, accompanied by the well-known sweetness of tonka beans, which makes this scent note even more unpleasant for some, and a moist-earthy vetiver touch:
Beautifully dirty and heavy must this mixture be to give “Oudrageous” its special charm.

The makers of “The Merchant of Venice” know what they are doing here as well, and thus the sillage and longevity fit exceptionally well with the overall presence of this fragrance.

I have had the pleasure of testing two of these precious scents, captured in glass flames, so far.
And of course, I am enchanted: “The Merchant of Venice” was one of the first brands I had the opportunity to try through dear Profumiste in my early days here.

I am also thrilled by their masterful flacons, even if they occasionally remind me of how I felt almost trapped one afternoon on the island of Murano.
Whichever Vaporetto line I took: I always ended up back on Murano!
But that is another story of my very personal “Venetian Legend.”

I was able to choose “Oudrageous” as a sample from Serafina's collection last winter; a bit is still left.
This will brighten my dark season with its frankincense-oud scent flames.

The Plums Are Right Next to the Frankincense!
Another exciting fragrance that I actually smelled in the Merchant of Venice Store in Venice and later bought in Milan is Oudrageous. Admittedly, the concept of the bottles is initially very interesting. However, it becomes quite exhausting to test through all these similarly looking Oud variations. One thing to note beforehand: this is an Extrait de Parfum. That means, it is highly concentrated - Extremely potent!
The price for just 30ml initially seems quite steep, but this balances out with the performance of the fragrance. I would recommend one, at most two sprays, as the Extrait also has an enormous longevity with a very linear scent structure.

About the scent: After a few years of wearing the fragrance mostly in my leisure time and only rarely at the office, I openly admit to smelling exactly two things. Very pleasant, enveloping frankincense and oddly enough, plum. These two notes go hand in hand all day long. Surely, there is a certain Oud cloud enveloping it, but the wearer quickly becomes unaware of it.
All in all, a great, seductive oriental that, in my opinion, starts to feel a bit sticky in the summer, but is unreservedly wearable for the rest of the year.
If a linear scent doesn't bother you, you can definitely wear it daily. But please dose carefully!

One more thing - The bottle is quite amusing, but at that price, it could have been a bit less plastic. ;-)

Warm and cozy, velvet and silk, cardamom and lots of incense, tobacco and oud. For me, definitely a hint of saffron. H + S is insane.

Warm spiced oriental, dominated by the scent of fresh cardamom pods, underlined by oud. Too foody for me.

Beautiful oriental with an interesting, distinctive coriander note. Otherwise a warm-spicy blend for autumn evenings.
