The name says it all!
CK One Essence scores plus points because the marketing is on point here.
Meanwhile, Elixir, Intense or Absolute versions of a brand can be something completely different from the original product - not here.

At its core, Essence is a more intense, deeper version of the original, while retaining much of the lightness and DNA of its famous predecessor.

After the tangy opening, for me the whole thing goes in the direction of a lemon tea with quite strong lemon and green additions, if you will.

In the base, you then notice the pepper and woods a little, and the whole thing develops a little in the direction of sun cream, but retains the lemon note throughout.

I find the longevity and silage to be just as "bad" or usual as with any other fragrance.

First of all - yes, there is enough difference that this product has its justification. It is different - without being better or worse. For me, it seems a little more "grown-up" and modern, but loses some of its OG charm.

If in doubt, I would prefer the OG, but I also enjoy this offshoot.

An all-rounder spring fragrance
CK One Essence is a more intense reinterpretation of the iconic CK One. The fragrance starts with a fresh blend of bergamot and blood orange, which provides a sparkling opening. The characteristic green tea remains in the heart, while the base adds a warmer and deeper note with sandalwood and musk.

Compared to the original, the longevity is noticeably better without losing its light, unobtrusive DNA. The fragrance remains uncomplicated, modern and versatile. The bottle remains true to the minimalist design, but looks even more sophisticated with its metallic finish.

But it would've been fun if you would've been the one
The "original" CK One has been a permanent fixture in my perfume collection since the 90s. Some of the numerous summer and other variants have also been allowed to move in from time to time and have definitely appealed, so I was very curious when CK One Essence was announced. Apart from the incense, the pyramid makes my eyes light up!

So here's the typical CK One style bottle, very chic in metallic silver. Thanks to the design that you can still see the fill level!
Especially for you today, the comparison test with the original CK One Eau de Toilette on the other arm AND also on my test rabbit aka hubby (in short: GG .... too bad I can't post any pictures here, the expression on his face was worth its weight in gold - he doesn't like wearing perfume and the prospect of two fragrances at the same time didn't exactly make him cheer).

ON HIM: great peppery start with soft lemon, could also be lime; no blood orange and no trace of tea far and wide
ON ME: hardly any pepper, no tea either, but much more almost biting citrus (scratching the cleaner association by a hair's breadth) and it's greener much faster

after 30+min:
BY ME: Fragrance can't really decide between green and aquatic, but is nice and fresh - the CK One tested at the same time shows minimally more residual fruit and is significantly less present at the same dosage.
FOR ME: Essence has opted for aquatic, I can't smell the rose geranium. Sporty and fresh but almost too masculine even for my unisex-loving taste. The GG agrees with me and said that he finds the tick more "edge" that it has on me wearable on him, on me it comes across as a sports shower gel. A HUGE difference on the skin compared to CK One - the original is softer on me (more musky), white-green instead of blue.

Towards the end:
For both of us, CK One Essence has a woody-spicy finish, funnily enough more tart on me than on my husband. I suspect the moss-incense combination, but I haven't really warmed to it yet. So I like the smell - but I prefer it on the man than on me!
For both of us, both the durability and the sillage of Essence were significantly stronger than that of the original. But to be fair, you also have to consider that CK One is "only" an EdT. The price has always been top anyway.

So to make a long story short: NO - CK One Essence is not CK One Eau de Toilette "only in stronger" ! I like it a lot, but I think it will suit the men better and I'm guessing an 80/20 split among the owners here. My bottle will probably also have to find a new owner, my GG looked too panicked when I said he could use up the bottle ;)
It's a great, fresh, sporty and, depending on your skin, green or aquatic summer fragrance that doesn't have any sweetness or floral notes. A solid office and everyday fragrance!

Recognisably CK One, but less floral. The musky, citrusy tea is still present, with a slight minty freshness. Lovely!

The geranium note is nice, I like it better than the other CK one flankers

This flanker takes the remarkably inoffensive CK One DNA in a more “edgy” direction. More citrus, noticeable mint and Tea notes. It’s good!

It’s a Martini Asti of the perfumery: you know there are better alternatives, but it’s okay and you didn’t pay much for it.
