The Name Says It All!
CK One Essence earns some initial points because the marketing here is on point.
By now, Elixir, Intense, or Absolute versions from a brand can be something completely different from the original product - but not here.

At its core, Essence is a more intense, deeper version of the original, while largely retaining the lightness and DNA of the famous predecessor.

After the zesty opening, it goes in the direction of a lemon tea with quite strong lemon and green nuances, if you will.

In the base, you can sense the pepper and woods a bit, and it develops slightly towards sunscreen, but maintains the lemon note throughout.

I find the longevity and sillage to be just as "poor" or typical as with any flanker.

First of all - yes, there is enough difference that this product has its place. It is indeed different - without being better or worse. For me, it feels a bit "more mature" and modern, but slightly loses its OG charm.

In case of doubt, I would prefer the OG, but I also find joy in this flanker.

A Versatile Spring Fragrance
CK One Essence is a more intense reinterpretation of the iconic CK One. The fragrance opens with a fresh blend of bergamot and blood orange, providing a zesty start. At its heart, the characteristic green tea remains, while the base adds a warmer and deeper note with sandalwood and musk.

Compared to the original, the longevity is noticeably better, without losing the light, unobtrusive DNA. The fragrance remains uncomplicated, modern, and versatile. The bottle stays true to the minimalist design but appears even more elegant with its metallic finish.

Essence of what?!
“CK One Essence” is a tasty bore. Zesty blood orange paired with the most classic, neutral “CK One” DNA. Everything is super subtle and quiet. That’s okay. It’s wearable. But somehow, there’s a lack of that certain something at every corner…

Zesty, fresh, clean, unisex. Over time, it becomes slightly creamy-skin-like, almost leaning towards a very, very subtle sunscreen. That’s it. One shouldn’t expect miracles. It does its job. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel. Not even a spoke. It works. After a shower, during sports, for changing rooms and leisure. The 90s have been making a comeback for a while now, culturally replacing the 80s. “CK One Essence” hits this note and plays it extremely safe. I don’t see an essence of anything here, no matter how hard I try. Bestsellers smell different. Because too much “lowest common denominator” doesn’t create a major breakthrough anywhere. The blood orange as a minimal-modern “kick” can hardly be called a “kick.” And it’s seriously lacking in character and uniqueness. Especially with the shiny appearance and the title “Essence,” one expects more of everything than what is delivered here…

Bottle: silver, shiny, not bad
Sillage: subtle when it’s burning
Longevity: 5 hours, at best

Conclusion: not outstanding - even compared to the many other CK Ones… Never stinky, but a pretty nondescript freshy. It falls in line.

But it would've been fun if you would've been the one
The "Original" CK One has been a staple in my perfume collection since the 90s. Some of the numerous summer and other variants have also found their way into my collection for a time and were quite pleasing, so I was very curious about the announcement of "CK One Essence | Calvin Klein." The pyramid makes my heart flutter, except for the incense!

So here comes the bottle, designed in the typical CK One style, very chic in silver metallic. Thanks to the design, you can still see the fill level!
Just for you today, the comparison test with the original CK One Eau de Toilette on the other arm AND also on my test subject aka husband (short: GG ....too bad I can't post pictures here, his facial expression was priceless - he doesn't like wearing perfume, and the prospect of two scents at once didn't exactly make him jump for joy).

ON HIM: great peppery start with soft lemon, could also be lime; no blood orange and no trace of tea anywhere
ON ME: hardly any pepper, no tea either, but significantly more almost biting citrus (just barely avoiding a cleaner association) and it turns green much faster.

after 30+ min:
ON HIM: the scent can't quite decide between green and aquatic, but it's nice and fresh - the CK One tested in parallel shows slightly more residual fruit and is significantly less present at the same dosage.
ON ME: Essence has opted for aquatic, I don't smell any geranium. Sporty fresh but almost too masculine for my unisex-loving taste. GG agrees with me and said that the little bit more "edge" it has on me would be wearable for him, but on me, it comes across as sport shower gel-like. CLEAR difference on the skin compared to CK One - the original is softer on me (more musk), white-green instead of blue.

Towards the end:
For both of us, CK One Essence dries down to a woody-spicy finish, interestingly more bitter on me than on my husband. I suspect the moss-incense combo; I haven't really warmed up to it yet. So I like the scent - but I prefer it on men rather than on me!
For both of us, the longevity and sillage of Essence were significantly stronger than that of the original. Fairness requires considering that CK One is "only" an EdT. The price has always been great anyway.

So to make it short: NO - CK One Essence is not CK One Eau de Toilette "just stronger"! I like it a lot, but I think it will suit men better, and I predict a 80/20 percent split among owners here later. My bottle will probably have to find a new owner, my GG looked too panicked when I said he could use up the bottle ;)
It is a great, fresh, sporty, and depending on the skin, green or aquatic summer scent that does without sweetness and floral notes. A solid office and everyday fragrance!

Recognisably CK One, but less floral. The musky, citrusy tea is still present, with a slight minty freshness. Lovely!

The geranium note is nice, I like it better than the other CK one flankers

This flanker takes the remarkably inoffensive CK One DNA in a more “edgy” direction. More citrus, noticeable mint and Tea notes. It’s good!

Nice and solid constructed, but very flowery and powdery for me,, pyramid is a fiction, mandarin ambrox 97%. Long lasting and saturated.

CkOne didn't need to be stronger. All the delicacy of the original, the floral elements, etc., have all been trampled into the ground. Axe.

It’s a Martini Asti of the perfumery: you know there are better alternatives, but it’s okay and you didn’t pay much for it.

Sterile cold freshness from citrus and green notes. It feels as metallic gray as the bottle. I'm quite unsure about it.
