My first comment, nervous? Yes, but the fragrance says, "come on, write something nice about me"
I posted a request in the thread Samples & Decants regarding scents in the gourmand, chocolatey, and vanilla categories. A lovely perfumer offered to let me check out her fragrances to see if any interested me. Spontaneously, I put together a little package, and she also included a few extra scents. Now I'm testing my way through all the fragrances and enjoy reading the accompanying comments to see if I perceive the scents as described or completely differently. I find it really interesting. I wanted to do the same with Bitter Kakao & Vanille, but oh, there are no comments yet. Hmm, should I, should I not? Sniff, sniff... Oh come on, dare to do it. So here’s my impression of this fragrance, tested for several hours on the back of my hand: B K + V starts fresh and citrusy for me. I smell grapefruit, lemon, and a hint of mandarin. I'm already thinking this could be promising, as these notes usually don’t develop nicely on my skin. But no, the fragrance remains pleasant and becomes sweeter. A bit like the contents of refreshing sticks but without tons of sugar. Delicious. After a while, the citrus notes diminish. It becomes floral, and I detect another component that seems somehow familiar. Then it hits me. It smells like being in a sauna. But not like sweat or anything gross, rather like the wood in the sauna. When you walk in and there aren’t too many people inside yet. That’s how the scent stays with me. Sweet, floral, and woody. A bit fresh too, but subtle. Unfortunately, I don’t smell the cocoa at all, and the vanilla is only very faintly in the background. Still, I really like it. It’s not too overpowering; I would even wear it to work. The longevity is good; I’ve been wearing it for about 6 hours now and can still perceive it clearly.
So, my first comment is complete. It was fun to write it.
