Secret Meeting of Fragrance Giants....
...A rendezvous of strong scents!! But as naive as it may sound, the matter is not so simple. Here, no one plays first fiddle; four soloists take turns fairly: The Jasmine Sambac plays a sweet melody, while the Indian Jasmine contributes "sandy" green notes. The cedar-like spicy-bitter "red" sandalwood fits perfectly with the strong spices.
Other woods and "awake" pimento, together with balsamic resins, create a very magical and mysterious background sound, making one feel as if the eloquent, alluring sirens from Greek mythology have come to life. All of this unfolds against a reddish-brown sky backdrop of a distant sandstorm.
After a while, the mirage of a kind of enchanted forest appears, with resinous trees, and somewhere deep within lies a clearing with an exotic flower garden.
Those who have the patience to follow the fragrance from beginning to end will also notice the otherwise "secret" highlights of a CLASSY perfume, which are less "nose-catching": the alternating and interplay of equally strong partners. They have the ability to enchant those who love both "woody-bitter" and sweeter floral scents. I LOVE THE MARVELOUS!!!!!

A Midsummer Night's Dream
One spray and my breath catches: Madness! What is THIS? Intense, expansive, a statement without regard for losses. I look around in horror: Oh God, is someone nearby who might collapse and it's my fault? No, luckily I am alone. Then I ask myself: Who would seriously wear such a fragrance and on what occasion?
About 10 days later, I have the answer: Me. And actually for any occasion.

But of course, that’s not possible. At work, I can’t risk people collapsing. There are also social events where I would rather not be excluded. So I hold back and wear Perfectly Marvelous mostly at home. However, that already requires concessions: My cats demonstratively avoid my presence.
They obviously don’t like it when their human smells like a giant forest of Jelängerjelieber in full bloom with a lily-covered ground and surrounded by jasmine.
They probably instinctively run away to avoid being instantly narcotized and thus defenseless against any potential enemy.

Well, cats are relatively small animals compared to me, plus I am quite robust and I would have to spray a lot to even get narcotized myself.
But it is interesting that I particularly enjoy wearing Perfectly Marvelous at night, not only out of consideration for others.
I sleep especially well with this scent and also have beautiful dreams.

After a few hours, the white florals lose a bit of their edge and a delicate, resinous spiciness becomes apparent. This was certainly already present subtly before, otherwise Perfectly Marvelous would seem too one-dimensional with its white floral emphasis.
Even though I perceive the flowers as extremely intense, they are not really piercing. And although neither honeysuckle nor lily are listed in the pyramid, I do not perceive the scent as an outright jasmine fragrance; rather, I smell honeysuckle in the foreground. The floral sea is still somewhat pungent. But that doesn’t bother me; on the contrary, it gives the fragrance a bit of herbaceousness as a counterbalance. I also find it very pleasant that there is hardly any sweetness.
The resinous aspect comes through more and more over time, becoming increasingly soothing, yet remains subtle and never takes center stage. Gradually, it is gently supported by dry wood.

Initially intense and lush, without being heavy, the floral horn of a summer evening transforms into a floral-scented, subtly woody-spicy dry, never-ending, mild summer night.
Yes, the longevity leaves nothing to be desired: 10 hours minimum.

I thank Kayliz for the leftover bottle from the swap game.
It is a true Midsummer Night's Dream!

P.S. My husband has been sick for the last 2 weeks and can hardly smell anything. After his recovery, there might be further exclusion coming my way.

Want sex, take a bit more!
Perfectly Marvelous - Vollkommen großartig
ok, what is the emphasis on now? Perfect or marvelous?
Perfectly marvelous tropical climate, sultry, heavy, breathtaking, phew...
Do I want to smell like humid, jasmine-laden, sandalwood-infused air? The sultriness of this scent reminds me a lot of China White. Drooling, sexist! Sorry. But I would only wear this scent if I had no other way to get sex *cough* THIS should definitely work (hopefully)... well.
I don't know what Celine Barel was thinking, or at what point she created this fragrance.
Was she pregnant, starving, frustrated? I just can't get the 3 words out of my head.
Perfectly Marvelous smells so much like overblown jasmine, and the balsamic sandalwood doesn't really help. A thick, heavy bouquet of flowers that has been sitting in water for a while. It still looks beautiful, still smells, but this slightly musty note that intensifies with each passing day is extreme. Pimento, just a pinch of it, has something sweaty, dirty about it. So far, the scent reminds me of a hot day when you've showered, perfumed yourself, and sweated all day, cooled down, and then sweated again. The body somehow never finds rest. You feel like everyone "smells" you. All that's missing is that you're not wearing cotton clothes.
In the end, the scent also becomes heavily sweet, and the listed resin is completely absent, and unfortunately, the indicated spices are quite meager as well.
Perfectly Marvelous is an extremely lush floral scent, and I believe that definitely just a drop on each side behind the ear is enough, and better a bit further from the nose. You have to like it or hate it.
I just now see the price - wow! So for sex... *g*
But as I said, if you want sex, take a bit more ;-)

The Red Silk Scarf
Since I’m already at one of the (rare!) sources and I’m so fond of its sister scent, Perfectly Marvelous gets to take a spot on my other wrist. The jasmine doesn’t smell as stunningly fresh on the skin as it does on paper, but at no point does it become musty. I feel as if I’ve thrown on a red silk scarf that dances joyfully in the summer breeze. I never tire of this dance throughout the day; it is perfectly marvelous and above all - it will also become mine. Perfectly Marvelous definitely does not belong to the self-promoters who use human skin as a platform for a rehearsed show; it inspires, offers caresses, and infects with joy for life. And it does so for hours, undeterred by the fact that I actually don’t like jasmine. For this performance, I believe it deserves a high score.

Signal red sin that actually lures with tons of white flowers. Sandalwood, resins & spices add warmth. An extroverted beauty.

The punk of sandalwood scents. This jasmine really rocks. Ruthlessly meaty, wild, LOUD. Uncompromising. Avant-garde!

Thick, rich "blüterich" with spice and wood. More for evenings. Apply with a powder puff!
Moist dust. Strangely mysterious....

A thundering army of white flowers crushes everything in its path and takes no prisoners. Intimidated resins struggle to clean up.

Perverse, powerful, and overly sweet jasmine scent with sandalwood and pigment - but it doesn't help to get any better.

Spicy, warm jasmine scent, absolutely overwhelming :)) I see it on extroverted power ladies who have no problem with dominance.

A sandalwood "Spring Jasmine." Jasmine, sandalwood, incense, spices. Reminds me of Samsara. Beautiful, classy, sexy-elegant, red suits it.

Not a "dizzying" jasmine, rather a powdery one. Spicy exciting with spices and allspice, lightly peppery, and with sandalwood*
